I get he is probably concerned about another concussion, but the constant catch and immediate drop to the ground when he can get some YAC is one more reason why he is not a true #1

he had a chance to beat that one defender or minimum gain 8-10 more yards racing to the sideline.

He should at least turn up field, then slide right before the defender closes on him to get a few extra yards and a couple of 15-yard penalties; especially against the Panthers

I do see your point, but, the Saints need availability and continued positive QB development.

Without him, all the progress gets set back.

He will never stop doing this.

He's one hit away from being a vegetable.

I am sure the coaches told him to do that.

Thats what and who he is. He is not going to fight for extra yards and he is going to drop at least one catch a game.

While true, Olave has always done this.

Olave has had a very good year.

Unfortunately, you can't invest in him because of the concussions.

Our TE has more YAC lol
Going to be interesting to hear what his agent is asking for on a second contract.

One of many reasons. Ideally, he would end up being our third guy. An outside threat and a guy who could work the slot and in space, then Chris

His talent level is well above that.

But you can’t rely on him due to the head injuries.

Hes so much better than that. The only issue is the head injuries (I think that may also have something to do with his drops which are often in traffic - being cautious) but if he makes it through this season and the offseadon with zero trauma I actually think he can start being more aggressive next season.

I would lean towards re-signing him to the big deal at this point (I cant believe I'm saying that).

The constant Olave hate is crazy. He’s currently a top 15 WR in the nfl this season. How many top 15 players do we have at any given position? He might be the only one. Every touchdown catch or big time play gets overlooked because “that’s what he’s supposed to do”. Every mishap gets blown out of proportion.

Olave is our best offensive player outside of Banks.

Unfotunately, he's a ticking timebomb.

Shough may be skilled enough to greatly reduce his concussion potential.

Obviously luck is involved but man - DC4 seemed to have a real knack for throwing hospital balls to CO12

Most of his concussions came with his head just hitting the ground.

His route tree also looks different this year.

He's not getting into spots where he can't protect himself
