Good but they should want to

Can’t take the risk of trading him to your rival and then he all of a sudden pans out to what he was supposed to be

I'd take a gamble on Wilson

Baker had that gunslinger mentality, he needed to reign it in.
Darnold saw ghosts and had to sit for a while, but injury was also a concern - he could go through progressions when he had time. I think shanahan helped a lot.
Wilson has always looked lost and young looks broken. Fields I think had taken a huge step forward, he's still the most upside imho

Fields will never be a consistent passer.
Steelers offense looked 10x more explosive with Russ last night

Maybe not, but I'd like to see him with a guy like Todd monken. Fields is still just 25, which is only 1 year older than Bo nix.

I honestly think this is going to become a huge trend in the NFL which is largely a copycat league.
Instead of continuing to make good but not great QBs the highest paid player in nfl history why not give guys that are still young but maybe weren’t ready to be franchise QBs at 22 years old a shot.
Colleges do such a shite job of developing these guys in a lot of systems it could very well just take a little bit of time and a decent situation.
It’s almost like a second rookie go round with these mid 20s guys on much cheaper kind of prove it deals.
Even Baker’s “big money” deal looking good compared to Tua, Lawrence, Love, etc and they got to try before buying.

Now that I've saw mayfield after Evans got hurt, maybe we need to just find elite WRs
Posted on 10/21/24 at 9:24 pm to msstate7
Didn't we do the same thing with Jameis?
Posted on 10/21/24 at 9:24 pm to msstate7
We don't want Young....believe me.

Yeah, hate we didn't get him a full season with Sean.

Id be down to take a flyer on Young. But with our current o-line, he would be no better than where he is in Carolina.
Shore up the offensive line and Bryce could be a decent NFL QB

It’s not the colleges fault or job. Darnold and Wilson were drafted by the Jets a complete shite organization. Darnold only played 2 years of college, he’s younger that Joe Burrow. After a year in SF with good offensive coaching and now with Minnesota he looks better. Mayfield also looks better after just half a year with Mcvay.

Didn’t we do this with Carr? Everyone said how the Raiders were a shiteshow and Carr would be on another level with better coaching.
But then Micky fricked up turning us into the Raiders south with Allen.
