This makes too much sense not to get done with the trade yesterday. Signing him eliminates you needing a safety in the draft and completes the defense so you can focus all your attention at rebuilding the offense this year with young players on cheap rookie deals.

He was a first team all pro 2/3 years.

They aren’t drafting Pickett. I’m not sure why you keep saying this

If he's there at #19, I think it's a very real possibility.

Who did they tell you they were drafting?

Drafting certain positions ain’t worth a shite if the player is no good

Pickett is not getting past Carolina at 6. No way the Saints are going to get him. Maybe Carol with one of the first round picks

Saints have enough problems; don’t need his baggage.

I figure Willis and Pickett end up going way higher than they probably should. I'd certainly be interested in Pickett at #19 though if he falls

Sign the badger

WR/OT at 16/19 in whichever order and I’m pretty content with the off-season.

Maybe try to get one more vet WR to be a solid #2 or 3 depending who we’d get in the draft

The most likely scenario is they draft a tackle and WR with their picks.

Sounds like Tyrann Mathieu’s visit has ended

So you're telling me he does not want to be in NOLA yet wasted his day to meet with the organization. Reality check. If he does not sign, it is more about the money and not about the location of the team.

I feel like both sides want him here. But at the right price.

I don’t expect him to sign before the draft. He doesn’t have much leverage to get himself more money right now. But if the draft doesn’t fall some teams way, desperate for a safety, they’ll be hitting up Mathieu

He was already in town. A visit to the saints makes headlines which other teams read and hear about.

I do think the saints have genuine interest but only at the right number.

What's the date he can be signed and it won't affect comp picks for Williams and armstead?
