Marcus Williams grades out as the best second-round pick of the 2017 draft

Gonna be 100% completely honest, we won't get another 2017 draft. That is a draft of a lifetime having 4 picks being top 10 at their respective position in year 1.
But like you said, decent draft. Replicating 2016 alone would be sufficient: 5 picks
Sheldon Rankins - above average DT
Michael Thomas - above average-elite WR
Vonn Bell - average SS
David Onyemata - average-above average DL
Daniel Lasco - ace special teamer
1st, 3rd, 4th, 2 5ths, 2 6ths, 7th. (8 picks).
You know those 5th and 6ths are going to be packaged to move up on the board. 2019 picks are easily going to be available too. Just gotta knock out the first 2 picks and that's perfectly fine with me

Average safety who made the worst play in saints history. Not only should he be cut from the saints but he doesn’t deserve to be on an NFL roster. Professional players don’t make that mistake, he’s a loser and will continue to show it. But hey we’re saints fans and have grown to accept it right.

2017 draft is top 3, arguably top ever in team history. I’m not expecting that, nor should anyone. That’s why I said a decent draft, which would add another 2-3 contributors, 1 franchise player. We are finally out of that hole 14-16.

I agree. I also think we shouldn't expect to get any immediate help out of the draft (should never be the expectation). Any immediate improvement the team needs (LB, WR, DE?) has to be done in FA IMO.

Agreed. We don't need one like last year (although it would be awesome) we just need one like the 2016 draft where we got guys like (Michael Thomas, Sheldon Rankins, Vonn Bell and Onyemata)
I think we do something similar this draft and trade most of our 5-7 round picks in order to double dip in the third round or maybe trade into the 2nd. We have 2 5th rounders and could potentially have 2 6th rounders.
