What you want him to do? Slit his wrists in front of Saints nation on live tv? It's a game, he made a terrible play at a terrible time and I'm sure he feels bad about it.

Obviously we're super pissed at him but atleast he took credit for it and nobody feels worse about it than him. Shouldn't take away from the solid season he had and the clutch INT he had earlier in the game but that one mistake will overshadow anything else that he did in the other 17 games and 3 9/10 quarters.

The defense is told no matter what do not interfere in that situation. They talked about it after the game. It’s easy to say “all he had to do was make a simple tackle”, but it’s not as easy to actually do it. It sucks that we lost and it also sucks he has to go through this shite and probably hear or at least read stupid comments about it.

ETA- if it weren’t for his interception, we wouldn’t have even had a chance to win.

He could have wrapped him up rather than go for the cut tackle and whiff it. He has to realize he is the last man between receiver and goal line...

Come on man. He made the last mistake, but not the only mistake. Plenty more blame to go around.

This is a major fork in the road for him. He either lets it consume him or learns from the mistake and becomes a much better player. I think the latter will happen and fans will be surprised.

I can assure you the dude will literally never have another opportunity to make up for that. That is bottom of the 9th, Game 7, bases loaded with two outs. Your team is up a run on DEFENSE and the batter pops up to second base. And you botch the catch. Two runs score. Season over.

It literally does not get easier or bigger than that, and you botched it.

Doesn't matter what you do in your career from here on out. Doesn't matter how hard you work. Nothing you do individually can make up for it. You had your moment and blew it. He could go down as a HOF safety, and never get us to another super bowl.

Well it shouldn’t happen again because you should be fired.

He will forever be known as the guy who made moronic play that costed the Saints, us fans, and maybe he, himself, a chance to win a Super Bowl. I am not his statement takes enough responsibility.

Best not to let it linger

It’s been just a few fricking minutes since it happened. If it’s not lingering, he’s a sociopath. I hope it hurts him til training camp. And then I hope it hurts him for the rest of his career. Use it as fuel.

I don't hate Marcus Williams.

But, that was quite literally the worst debacle of a play that I've ever seen.

It makes me think back to all of the plays where an opponent broke into the open field and Marcus Williams took an absurd angle to make sure the guy didn't get past him...often giving up an extra 10 yards. I'm guessing that he has real problems tackling.

I've never seen someone miss so bad on an easy tackle. Ever.

It was one of the worst blown coverages and attempts at a tackle I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely horrible. There is no way you could frick up any worse than that play. He honestly should think about that play for the rest of his life, because it cost him a chance at a super bowl.

Nick Foles. That’s who was next, Williams. Nick fricking Foles!!

Tackle after catch would have put them into field goal range anyway, correct? Not his fault
