I’m not sure how good he’s been and won’t pretend to know.

Is he a bust or not? Looking for an honest assessment.

Regardless of which, I don’t think you can rate drafting a DE off that since Cam Jordan is getting older. Always need to bring young talent in on the lines.

He’s been a factor when he has played, but hasn’t been healthy for any season.

When healthy he’s a force. Unfortunately nagging injuries could be a part of his makeup and may always limit his impact.

When he's healthy he's a force. He doesn't always get sacks but he gets a ton of QB hurries and he's not bad against the run at all. He wasn't worth the 2019 first rounder that was given up for him so I guess technically he's a bust but he's a talented dude who plays really well but has nagging injuries every year.

Is he a bust...no. But has he massively disappointed for what the Saints gave up to draft him? The answer is yes.

Some writer said that’s the difference between Davenport and Turner. Davenport is a genetic freak who plays the game because he can and doesn’t truly love it. Turner truly loves the game.

We’ll see how that all translates next season.

He’s been a good player. Not worth what they gave up to get him but he’s been solid.

I am not saying he is a bust right now but he is an inconsistent , often injured, underachiever in his contract year. I would have to say he is a bust considering what it cost us to get him.

I believe Davenport could still turn in an all pro season and dominate the nfl, but he is a bust in a saints uniform.

Davenport was drafted after an 11-5 season to a roster with an aging QB and young stars. The pick of Davenport was designed to be the missing piece to a super bowl team. The saints have played in 5 playoff games since he was drafted. Davenport has played in 4 and registered 0 sacks in these games. In each of the last 3 playoff losses the game could have been won by a timely sack or big play by Davenport. He delivered 0. This pick is a bust and our window with brees is closed.

Just remember it took Trey Hendrickson three years to break out. Most draft pundits say to wait three years before passing judgement. Next year is davenports third year.

Davenport is a above average NFl player. When healthy he still plays only plays 49% of the snaps. It seems our coaching staff believes he is just a rotation guy.

Who said this? I've been questioning Davenport's love of the game and got called crazy for it.

You can clearly see davenport doesn't love football

Funny. Next year is his 4th year. He has been an almost bust. It's ok to say.

People will say he gets pressures, which he does, but that's the problem. He is always a step late.

Off balance to much for someone so big. He should be imposing his will at a greater rate.

He is hesitant to get off the line.

5 of the 6 players drafted right after Marcus Davenport in the 2018 draft ended up being pro bowlers ..Edmunds, Derwin James, Jaire Alexander, Vander Each, Ragnow. What could've been.

I don’t think we should call him a bust. He has been a good player for us. Has just never lived up to the expectations given what we gave up and there have been better players that were picked after him at this point in their career. But You can see the ability and he is terrific against the run but still hasn’t put it all together.
