You really think that's why most saints fans, who are also LSU fans, hate Mark Ingram?

Alabama is a part of it, but we have had plenty of Bama, Ole Miss, etc players that Saints fans have loved.

Its obviously a combination of factors, but the primary one was we traded up to get him and he wasn't great initially.

If he had rushed for 2000 yards year 1 no one would have brought up Bama.

See the 2017 file "Lattimore, Marshon". Remember they were careful with his hamstring problem last preseason and TC as well. That worked out just fine.

Ok, are we being to careful with him?

Yes. Our coaching and training staff are blowing it with this kid. All Saints fans should openly question Saints management...this is inexcusable. With all we gave up, we need MD on the field and practicing at all costs. We need to win now for Drew.

I can't tell if that is sarcasm or not. If it isn't...yeesh.

God I hate Friends. But I think we're comfortable with his role so no need to freak out. We have depth

Hendrickson missed some camp last year as well and went on to be a solid contributor. I still think that Davenport can have the same type of season while Hendrickson plays a bigger role on this defense.

Some people expect Davenport to come in and be all world this season but I have the expectation that his ceiling is really high. It is going to take him a couple seasons to reach the level of production that we envision for him. Will that make him a bust? I do not think so. Cut the kid some slack.

Finally, CSP hasn't mentioned him in a negative comment yet so it must be a legit issue. CSP has taken that tool from Parcells and used it in the past. I don't know why he would stop now.

I agree to not jump on the bust or worried train, but will people stop comparing Davenport to Lattimore. Lattimore was way more pro-ready than Davenport.

When you spend two 1st round draft picks on one person, fans expect an impact player, and why shouldn't they.

Because that isn't how it works, and that isn't always why teams draft a player.

Fans should expect that player to develop into a great player if you give up two picks. Whether that happens year 1 or year 3 is irrelevant. Every highly drafted player, regardless of draft capital given for them, should get 3 years to develop.

This was such a dumb pick. you DO NOT GIVE UP A #1 PICK NEXT YEAR FOR A PROJECT DL. Only the fuc@# Saints would have done this.
