#93 White helmet and white gloves

Really excited about this pick after watching the film. Consistently gets pressure on the QB.

You can tell he got some quality coaching at the senior bowl.

With him and Cam on the ends it's going to make the QB step up in the pocket which means our interior DL needs to help out and I think Rankins will have a huge year. Our DL is in good shape gentleman

Davenport is a freakish talent. Really good first step and extends his arms well for leverage.

Once fully developed he will Legit for us down the road

Yeah all he has is that bull rush right now, will need to add 10 to 15 more pounds too. I've seen several comparisons to Ware but I think his ceiling is comparative to JPP.

Not true, actually.

He beat the tackle to the edge on the last play of the video by swatting away the left tackle's hands. Got pressure on the QB and he ended up throwing a pick.

At 4:45 in the video he has a nice Dip and Rip to beat the Right Tackle.

Bull rush is his best move right now, but he has a few other moves.

Payton actual said he's at a pretty ideal size now, but he may gain 5-10 lbs. of muscle weight training.

I don't think they want him over 275 lbs. because Payton said that the extra weight wears those "speed" rushers down.

D-line players usually get the better of the O-line during the week leading up to the gAME.

Thanks Chris. Nice job as usual.

After Payton mentioned it in the Day 1 draft presser, Davenport shows the awareness in this video to throw up his hands to block passing lanes, and is not just focused beating on the man in front of him.

Excited about his pass rush ability. His run defense is good ( just speaking off senior bowl) he’s not making plays against the run but he’s is around the ball each time

He plays very upright and doesn't seem to bend very well around the corner. I don't feel like he explodes off the line like a Danielle Hunter, Von Miller, or even Cam. Maybe that is because he doesn't get down in a 3 point stance. WTF do I know though. Hoping he is who we all hope he can be.

He switched up from 3 point to standing, but played mostly standing this game.

Also his role was more read and react on many of these plays as opposed to just pinning his ears back.

Go back and watch the plays where he did go straight into rushing the passer. He affected him almost every time.

I think they'll try to teach him to play more 3 point with us as he was getting pushed too much on a lot of the running plays where he wad standing.

He was still able to shed so that's a plus, but as an end you can't give up 3-5 yards of ground off the snap. He was also around the ball and following it the whole way instead of just getting washed out, so also a plus.

He did show a few different moves when he rushed, but he needs to learn to swin better and how to use counters more effectively. The base is there, now we just have to build it up.

I really hope he can develop some different moves because he is quick off the snap. Cam is definitely a great guy to learn from here. DL might be legit this year.

A lot of fat on him still, he could just end up turning 10lbs of fat into 10lbs of muscle over the next 2 years and stay around 265.

I bet his diet has already changed since Thursday.

He was the best edge rusher going into the Draft, and we got him.

I'm excited!

That's true too, but I was just repeating what Payton said about his weight. I think he could add 15 lbs. of muscle and still be effective, but Payton said that's not ideal but that he'll probably gain some weight while weight training.

Also with how hard this guy works I don't think it'll take him two years. Dude was gaining about 20 lbs. a clip each year (of course likely not all ideal gains).

Davenport actually had a bad senior bowl.......

He was considered a top 5 pick by many until his performance in the practices and senior bowl game

Kiper mentioned this today, and also said he could see Davenport being rookie of the year.....

Kiper had him #14 in his first mock draft and left him at 14 in his 2nd mock draft after senior bowl. Said he had an "ok" week, didn't dominate but that was expected due to him being raw etc.

I listened to Kiper this morning

He verbatim said Davenport was top 5 on multiple teams boards, and would have gone there if not for the senior bowl week

He also said he is his surprise pick for defensive rookie of the year
