He might be cheap.

I'd sign him for the right deal. I know people shite on him but if it's relatively cheap, we could use another corner of Crawley's quality. Depth is key

We better count our blessings that we didn't trade for him. I have no doubt he would have become another big free agent bust.

Bill miscalculated. He should have traded him.

He's got an attitude, but you would too if you knew how his situation was handled in the off season. Lets just say its not going to be an amicable departure. Deal was all but done, but Patriots were using it for leverage over the Saints and Butler. I was shocked we even did the deal for Cooks, but hey it worked out.

If you are questioning his work ethic, he has played hard these last few years. Then they basically forced him to play this year even though he knew what he was worth, hell of a repayment for his work.

Butler plays the slot. He's a Nickel corner isn't he?

Let vaccaro walk and sign Butler and I think we are better as a secondary.

he still played on special teams. And bill belichek is way too fricking competitive to bench a guy for attitude reasons during the super bowl.

Either they were seeing he has regressed, or maybe he had a bad few weeks of practice, but you'd think leading up to his last game in a contract year he'd be playing his arse of in terms of effort.

And yet this same greatest defensive mind deemed him good enough to play more defensive snaps than ANYONE else on the team during the season. They picked on his replacement all night long to the tune of about 130 yards.

Belicheck fricked up. The patriots have 2 NFL caliber CBs and Butler is one of them

Possibly. But I thought the mvp should have been the philly o-line. Pats never got close to Foles and for the entire game he had near all damn day to throw the ball.
Someone earlier in the year said philly had the best o-line in the league.
They were right.

Then deactivate him and put in another pass rusher

There’s literally no good excuse for what Belicheck did. None.
