Shut up. You have no idea. He loves football. Has worked everyday since leaving lsu. He will make a team and will be a contributer.
So you're one of the people who pushed him to declare and cash in huh?

quote:Yeah, he could be starting on a ranked team with a new OC, who'd be figuring out ways to highlight his ability.

Really was a dumb move on his part.

Not getting into everything but one was school.

probably an excellent idea considering he was trying to play in the NFL

As in he didn't want to go to school any more? There really aren't any legit reasons to leave if you're not a lock for the first 3/4 rounds. There are excuses, but not reasons based on logic.

Let's just say he wasn't going to play football if he stayed.
Posted on 9/4/17 at 11:20 pm to BallChamp00
. . . . because he didn't want to do the work necessary to stay eligible to play ball at LSU. Because he was a lazy student. How sad - with the tutors and the academic center and professors giving grades to athletes, he couldn't hack it. Not even for the sake of his future . . . . . yeah, I don't feel sorry for him. The decision was on him, and now the mishandling of his career is too.
The answer is NO. He is not an NFL quality WR. He wasn't really a NCAA quality WR if you want to be completely honest. Way overrated.

You say this as if it makes it better. If he was failing school, it's reflects even worse on him.

I don't understand how someone with even half a brain can't stay eligible. They have everything at their disposal to get decent grades. Well, he'll reap what he's sown. He'll fade into obscurity and we'll forget all about him in a year or two.

He wasn't good in college.
He didn't have good numbers at the combine.
But he was a highly rated prospect from a local high school so he should be good in the NFL. Got it.

Because they all assume they'll be huge successes on autopilot.

I wonder what is game tape looked like. I seem to remember thinking he never attacked the ball. If he would lose more jump balls than win them. That is a must in the NFL you have to win the majority of your 1 on 1 coverages even if the ones where the DB is draped over you. A. Brown is 5' 10" and he goes and gets that ball. He will out battle a DB that has 4 inches on him to get it. Dupre never had that intangible.
