Looked liked holding to me

I just wish we would get that call as well when Jordan or Dport get held much worse.

They showed the hold in replay.

If I recall, Chandler was getting around Armstead, so he hooked him. Nothing flagrant, but it wasn't a phantom call.

I was at the game and they showed it on the screen, looked like holding to me.

I didn't even get up and cheer like all of the people around me did because I saw the flag immediately.

Dude in front of me turns around to give me a high five and sees me sitting down. I told him "Yeah that's coming back."

Brees should have spiked it...took way to much time.

It's frustrating because that type of block/hold happens probably on at least a quarter of pass plays involving a top tier pass rusher.

Can be called on almost every single pass play. Cam is the victim of far worse and opponents never get called for it.

I’ve seen plenty worse holds ignored by the refs but it was definitely a hold. Not egregious but it was the right call. He had a handful of the back of his jersey.

It really can. there is only one ref calling the backfield. If hes at a bad angle or watching a different matchup it gets missed. Nature of the game and just something all fans have to live with.

Some like to shout bias here but fact is its impossible for one set of eyes to catch everything that happens at the line. O-linemen know this and play the odds of not getting caught.

It wasn't holding, Armstead ran him out of the play by using the DE's momentum. A bad call that took points off the board. Here's a link:

I don't think anyone tracks this stat but we have to lead the league in points called back by the refs. Off the top of my head...

Cam's scoop and score against the Rams
Harris had a kick return for a TD called back
Murray had one called back against the Bears I think
And one yesterday.

There's probably more but just those four represent 24 points we didn't score. Not even commenting on whether or not the calls were legit, just seems like we have a lot of scoring plays called back by penalties.

yes it was holding, cant argue it was unjustified but at the same time it wasnt flagrant and they rarely call that penalty.

i do think they (refs) have moved on from targeting the saints, however, with that said, i remain mindful they are still rigging games but for now it benefits the NFL money stream to rig other games at the moment so they arent targeting the saints at least in drews first game back

Looked like a very average play by a tackle to me. I see why one would call it. I also agree with:

1) It was a hold...

It all got screwed up the play prior. Brees through the ball out to Murray and he caught the ball and was heading out of bounds when he was hit backward.

The ref decided to give forward progress instead of out of bounds, so the clock kept moving.

2) Brees should have spiked the ball with 11 seconds and then decided to throw a quick jump ball in the endzone or take the points.

3) They ran a play and then the play took a long time. Didn't matter as the flag was thrown and the time was under 10 seconds.

On the replay it was clear that the tackle was going to make it to Brees if not for the hold. I just wish they would either always call that, or never. Some O lineman is hooking cam jordan on almost every play.

It was a hold, I can remember thinking Armstead could probably have just pushed him past and didn't have to hold....but easy for me to say.

It was holding. But then they did the same thing to Cam on the next series and it wasn’t called.

If you’re going to allow it, do it for both. Otherwise, don’t. Just be consistent. Which is my beef with officiating.
