Ridley put us in games when NO ONE had to care about our passing game last season and he put it between the tackles. He's very shifty too. Maybe not as good as Ingram but with DE being a need we pulled the trigger on Jordan

Other than about 1500 yards, 23 touchdowns, and a Heisman

Why did we win a Super Bowl in 2009 and why did we flop in 2010? Balanced attack. Without a run game Brees has to do everything. And while a lot of the time he can, when he has Julius Jones and Ladell Betts in the backfield it's kind of difficult to get rolling.

so drafting a 1st round running back is the only way to have an effective running game...I guess someone forgot to tell that to 85% of the running game in 2009

And who were our runningbacks each year? Did we get different ones? No they were the same, the line played shittier, it was obvious

I think it will come back to haunt us unless we pick up a RB with our next pick.

why?

there are plenty of backs to draft

there are going to be backs in FA

What would a RB have to do in college to be a top 10 pick?

be adrian peterson/DMac and be 215+ and run a sub 4.4

RBs like ingram are a dime a dozen in the NFL

almost nothing separates a guy like ingram from a guy like ridley, who will be available in the 3rd or later

every offseason there is a RB like thomas jones out there to sign

RB has almost no value in the NFL right now

I'm not saying I don't like the pick. I would take Ingram over Ridley in a heart beat. Though I don't think Ingram or Ridley were the best RB's on either LSU or Bama last year. I think Ware will be better then Ridley, and Richardson will be better then Ingram.

Who's to say there aren't still good DT's or DE's later though? I haven't followed the draft much this year, but where is Drake Nevis supposed to go?

Last year the Saints had so many RB's injured by the end of the year. I doubt you'll see a year like that again.
