Let's talk about the draft to lift our spirits.

Yea in week 8. It is that bad.
Chicago is likely going to end up with the 1st overall pick from Carolina and also have a pretty high first round pick of their own. They are not going to pick a QB (In all fairness I don't know what position they need) but they will maybe be looking to move out of the #1 spot and maybe pick up future picks.
Is this going to be the best year for the Saints to move up and get the best QB on the board and if they're picking somewhere between 10 and 19 can they get it done? We know they're trading up, just how far can they get.

Denver is winning again. Their 2nd round pick will probably be higher than ours (which the Eagles have).

Saints are not drafting a qb with a top 14 pick this year.

Our first pick will probably be OL.

As long as its not a project guy, either OL OR DL please

I can’t look forward to the draft until Allen & Co. are fired

Not so sure about that.

We all know the Saints chose not to rebuild but try and win in the off season to most of our dissatisfaction. So why would that change with the investment at QB.
MT looks gone if we finish like we started. So I would say oline, dline and WR Vets in off-season with the draft to fill any holes left over.

Because the Carr experiment failed or is in the process of failing. They need a franchise option on the roster now for post 2024. Plus this year seems to have a few top tier options at QB even if it’s not #1 overall.
Don’t get me wrong I fully expect the Saint to continue to fail, while beating this same square peg in the round hole but that's not what the should do and that’s a sign of an erosion of competent upper level management which is even scarier than the incompetence at the coaching and player level.

I agree. The moronic coaching staff gave three games away this season.
It’s one thing to have the refs outright steal games from teams. There is no excuses for the continued brain farts by this coaching staff in the closing minutes of the game.

I will bet you a million dollars they pick Caleb Williams with the 1st pick. No way they give Justin Fields a new contract or pay him the 5th year option.

Probably. Meanwhile the Saints haven't taken a serious shot at drafting a franchise QB in 50 years. They're due.

We need one but to draft a first rounder and sit who for two years. 70 million dollar Carr or cheap rookie? Some teams would do it I just don't see the Saints.

With Loomis in charge of drafting decisions, my spirits can be lifted minimally.

This would be a good year for it, probably the deepest QB draft in a decade. Kind of regret drafting Haener last year. If the Saints end up with a mid-1st round pick, they will be in range to draft a potential franchise QB. Trading for Chicago's own 1st round pick (after they use Carolina's 1st for Caleb) may be the best target for a move up.

Agreed. Chicago can trade down and trade always fields to compliment what they already have.

Saints have one of the easiest schedules in the league.
They will find a way to be a fringe playoff team (yet again), which means our pussy arse owner(s) aren't going to fire anyone.
Lather, rinse, repeat for the next 2-3 years.

lol.
It's so depressing to be getting hopeful about blowing up the staff and roster to FINALLY start the rebuild.

If it's close, the smart move would be for Chicago to trade out of the 1st pick and take the 2nd or 3rd rated QB. Someone is going to grossly overpay. With that said, Chicago will probably stay at 1 and pick the 4th or 5th best guy

We would currently pick 10th if the draft was today.
I’d look at Joe Alt or Dallas Turner.
