You go get Butler.
This.

Exactly what do people realistically expect the Saints to do with any of their picks? Does anyone think they're gonna pick a Pro Bowl CB in the first round? The Saints? "Oh there's a lot of depth in this draft." Does anyone seriously think they pick anything other than a mediocre CB past round one? Seriously? The Saints?

I agree to an extent.

I see why some people are hesitant but let's think about this, is there going to be a player at 32 that will be better than Malcolm Butler? Frick no.

You do the deal, sign him long term and don't have to worry about the position for another 4 years.

3rd this year and MAYBE 2nd next yr if pats deal JG for 12 pick and a bunch of other change.

I get the feeling that "if" the pats do trade JG to Cleveland its for pick #1 and not just for #12, otherwise they would keep him.

then again, maybe the browns keep #1 and offer up #12 plus most of all the picks they have left this year and some next year for him.

if the browns do trade #1 to NE for JG, then im sure the pats will immediately trade down for the biggest package of draft picks they can get for it.

I expect they might prefer half of those picks to be for this years draft and half of those picks to be for next years draft.

not sure the points value on pick #1 but I would imagine its worth a lot so I can see NE turning the #1 pick into something like a 1, 2, & 3 this year plus a 1 & 2 next year or 2, 3, & 4, next year.

if this thing goes down I can see a massive shuffling of who picks where and anything mocked so far is out the window

first off "its the browns" they always do stupid things, plus they are desperate, very desperate for a QB.

yes I agree he isn't worth #1 and he isn't worth ANY first round pick in my opinion, maybe a 3rd round pick at best from any team that has a brain.

desperate teams do stupid things and when you go after a player a team doesn't want to trade you have to overpay like crazy if you want that player.

the proverbial "offer they cant refuse"

What's your opinion of the Saints ability to cherry pick a CB from a super bowl champ?

Jason David was an All-Pro CB?
