Saints officially are releasing WR Lance Moore today, per source.
Alrighty. Who is next? Thomas or Sproles?

Saw this on Saints Nation Blog twitter:

Trusted source just told me Saints would indeed possibly trade Pierre Thomas, but said "absolutely no truth whatsoever" to Sproles leaving

Hopefully both. Get a 5th or 6th for Sproles and call it a day. Just need to find that replacement scatback in either FA or late in the draft.
I don't see how we get anything more than a 7th for Thomas.

Moore hinted at his release Friday morning. The Saints tried to trade him, but nobody was willing to take on his $3.6 million. New Orleans saves over $2.531 million against the cap with the move but eats over $2.537 million in dead money. Moore was the longest-tenured Saints prior to his release. At 31 (in August) and a product of Drew Brees and Sean Payton, we don't anticipate a hot market.

I say better because, and ill prolly get roasted for this, but ive seen Moore miss catches and go down early and out of bounds to avoid hits.
every WR misses catches here or there.
as for avoiding hits, he's 5-9 180 for fricks sake. More WRs should do this.

Thomas is injured more than he's active; I say trade him and keep Sproles.

If we get rid of either PT/Sproles, I rather PT (no dead money).
If we get rid of both, hopefully McCluster comes here for cheap to spend more time with his gf

I think he'll resurface in Detroit, Chicago, Oakland, or Buffalo with Detroit being the most likely. All four of those places have Sean Payton disciples at the helm, and I'd say Detroit is the most likely place since he'd probably get the opportunity to take the role in the slot immediately considering how dire their receiver situation is.

Yeah, hard to argue against that especially since he did most of his work in the middle of the field and safeties are just looking to kill people.

any chance they might resign him on the cheap?

Don't think so. They going younger faster and cheaper.

Doubt it. He is still going to count around 2.5 million in dead money against the cap I think and I think a couple of teams will be looking for his veteran presence while the Saints are looking to get younger and more explosive.
