Thinking logically, there’s zero chance Sean wants Jackson...
which makes me wonder if the likely possibility is we want a team to jump ahead of us for Jackson so a player we want slides to us.

Or we could be looking to find a trade partner as well

Other than the fact that they are both black, there is really no similarity in their styles of play.

SMH, y’all seem to forget how many crappy QB’s including way too many Billy Joe’s before Brooks we had.

Brooks is the 3rd leading all time passer for the Saints, despite his shite eating grin after an interception.

I don’t know why people are hating on Lamar. He’s going to be a good pro QB. I’d be happy to have him at 27.

We’re trying to win a Super Bowl in the next 2 years. I can all but bet my season tickets on us not picking a QB in the first this year.

Because we don’t have a second round pick and it wouldn’t fit the all in approach.

And they failed because of physical limitations. Not many top QBs, if any, have ever scored that low. Marino is the lowest I can think of and he was an extreme outlier. It was said that at Jackson's pro-day, he used the Louisville play calls and they were 3-4 words instead of the 12-15 that is used in the NFL. So, it appears the calls were simplified for him. My concern with him has nothing to do with his physical skills, but whether he is smart enough and mature enough to handle the mental part of the NFL game.

Pretty damn comparable actually....

Just sayin.....

Why do we have to do this shite every year? Every single year about half the fan base latch on to some overrated college QB and have their mind set on them being our next guy? Drew is not done folks! He has atleast 2/3 years left in him, so while hes able to win us a Super Bowl why the frick would we waste a first round pick on some stupid QB that will set the bench for 3 years instead of getting someone that can help us win now? From a logical standpoint does that actually make sense to you people? Seriously? Stop with the stupid Lamar Jackson post! We are not drafting this moron plain and simple, stop being retards.

Fun fact: He's the Saints all time leading passer in backwards throws.

Interesting how you neglect to show Brooks college stats or rushing stats. If you do , one guy looks much better than the other, particularly with what I most despised about Brooks, interceptions. It also appear they ran significantly different offenses or, if they didn't Brooks was really bad at it.

Brooks

Jackson

I am neither opposed nor for Jackson being drafted at 27 if he gets there. But you are right that people get emotionally invested in various players or scenarios.

That is a reasonable assessment, I will allowed the people that Gayle Benson pays handsomely to make that decision do their job. I will say that I do worry about injury more each year as Drew approaches 40, and if we keep winning there is an argument to be made for opportunistically picking up a QB that we feel is valuable at the draft position (not say Jackson is or isn't at 27). Currently, we should not move up to pick a QB.

Most logical people want this if other needs are addressed via FA or are addressable later in the draft due to relative positional value.

Oh and

Hey, I'm not starting any and people believe this is a possibility because the some on coaching staff and some in the press keep making statements about how they like Jackson, etc. It could easily be a smokescreen or an attempt to influence a team to offer compensation for pick 27 if Jackson is falling that far.

For the record, from an unemotional point of view, Brooks was one of the better QBs the Saints had, but that stupid grin when he threw INTs really got under my skin realy fast.

Should be an interesting draft.

There is also the scenario to look at. 1st round players get a 5th year option. Now it Brees plays another 2 to 3 years, that allows our first-round pick to sit on the bench and learn from one of the best players. When Brees finally retires, we have at least two years to see if this is the guy that will lead the franchise in the future.

Lets take a runner on a project QB with no second round pick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The time for the Saints is now, get a OL or a rusher that can play now! Brees has maybe two years, we need contributors at need positions now!
