If so, should Payton try to make it happen?

feel like he would have been traded at draft time.

Think he has 1 year 7 mil and is getting older. isnt he almost 30 plus they need to stop giving up future draft picks

We signed Cook and have Hill as #2. I think we’re good at TE.

He would just be a redzone target.

No thanks.

Don’t ever use Josh Hill and “we’re good” in the same sentence smh

We’re still waiting on Hill to do something

Rudolph is meh, Moreau is just mentioned because of LSU and will take awhile to develop into a second TE in the nfl. Hill is crap.

Whole lot of suck in this thread

With Cook signing, Hill returning, a draft TE & last years Arnold, why even consider with his contract. NO

I never understand why people always say Josh Hill is crap. He is an integral part of what we do on offense with his blocking ability. He may not be a great receiver or a true #1 TE but he’s the perfect #2 TE in this iffebsevto pair with a recieving #1 like Cook. Rudolph is a good starting TE but he’s not great at any one thing. I wouldn’t trade for him because of his age and the money he makes but mostly because I like the TE we have on the roster. Dan Arnold is a nice project and Garret Griffin is serviceable but Alize Mack may very well be the difference maker of the group. The kid has obvious talent if he can put it all together he has starter potential.

Have you seen Rudolph's stats? Fleener's are better most years outside of Fleener's final season with the concussion.

And most people bitched about Fleener so why would anyone want Rudolph? Especially at that price and for a draft pick.

And we already signed a number one TE so the need isn't there.

Edit:
For reference, Fleener has a 2 yard advantage in both career ypc and ypg. Rudolph edges him out in tds per game (.25 to .36), but that can come down to opportunity, and tds any given year fluctuate wildly (though Fleener was never a red zone threat anyway). Fleener's career high was 8 and Rudolph's was 9.

That's not very good reasoning.

Who were Fleener's QBs? What kind of systems did he play in?

Rudolph is a good TE, just one we don't need.

Rudolph is an NFL TE, and decent #1 at that. With that being said, not everyone is going to be a prime Gronk, Kelce or Ertz..

No need for him here with the signing of Cook and drafting another prospect in Mack. Our TE group is good as is imo.

Rudolph has always been among the best blocking TEs in the league, Fleener couldn't block his own shadow.

People hating on Josh Hill must be blind. Any highlight video featuring Ingram or Kamara is also a Josh Hill highlight video. He is an absolutely elite run blocker and losing him for any reason would be big.

Hill is a great blocker.

I want him on my NFL team, not on my fantasy team.

Rewatch the rams game if you don’t think Hill is important. After he went down, the rams really started getting heavy pressure on Brees. He’s like having an athletic OT who can also catch and run

plus Peat wasn't 100% (hand)

and Unger surely was battling something at least you would think.

Football is still a line of scrimmage game to me. Good blockers needed.

Josh Hill is a good blocker and you don't see that from TE's as much now. They are being dispatched more on passing routes.

Yep. People that dislike Hill either think that he isn't a damn good blocker, or they think that blocking isn't extremely important.

There's a reason why we extended his contract before F.A. started. His blocking is vital to our offense & they didn't want another team outbidding us for him. Well that & Dan Arnold was the only other TE under contract for 2019.

He's not the greatest receiver, but he's damn athletic (nice size as well) & a good runner once the ball is in his hands. I like him a lot on TE screens. He does need to protect the ball better at times though.

He's a great #2 TE if your #1 TE is legit in the passing game...which Cook should be. I like Josh Hill more than a lot of people on this board, but I don't think anyone likes him more than CSP.
