The Saints didn't just lose. They lost to a team that was playing a QB who almost retired a couple of years ago due to his career being over.

The Saints NEVER pressured the QB. NEVER.

Prepare for a long and painful season, again.

Its too early for that.

The spread was set at -7-7.5 with Winston. Do you really think Fitz is a significant downgrade and the Bucs are 3 points worse? I dont. I thought he was an upgrade.

We suck in the first 2 weeks of the season since Payton has been here. Thats a fact. We havent won in week 1 since 2014? And suddenly everyone thinks we would suddenly change that.

Did anyone watch the first team defense vs the Chargers in preseason? they were gashing us for what seemed like 10 yards a run. Our defense isnt on the same page yet. PLaying your starters sparingly in preseason always has a negative effect. They should have learned by now.

Tampas WR and TE are 6'5-6" vs our 6' CBs.

The season isnt over until we are 0-3. Lets see if the defense comes together in the next few weeks.

One thing of note: No team that has ever lost to Tampa in a meaningful game has gone on to win the SB so its not looking good.

You hit the mail on the head right here. Even a journeyman NFL QB is still an NFL QB. If you fail to pressure almost anyone at this level, they will eat you up. The few times we did actually get to him, we got screwed with ridiculous penalties.

So you're saying the Saints have hope because most of the qbs in the NFL aren't old journeymen? Young, one-teamers.

We lost to Tampa in a game that would have clinched home field the year we won the Super Bowl

Fitzpatrick has always been a pretty good QB. He should be starting over a lot of guys in the NFL. Tampa just has some good weapons at the skill position, and it didn't look like we game planned for that on Defense.

...or...Maybe it's just the first game

Dude balled out against us yesterday....if happens. He's an NFL quarterback for a reason. We'll be fine.

Literally every QB in the NFL would shred a defense if given plenty of time to throw the ball

They never adjusted to the O-line stone walling our front 4. And when we did get there, we were hit with 2 bullshite roughing the passers and 1 questionable one. Add to that, they made a point of emphasis about anyone lowering their helmet and initiating a hit with the crown; and Fitz does it to Williams on the TD run. Also, one of the sacks on Brees was a roughing the passer call on Chris Long against Atl.

The inconsistency of NFL officials continues to make it difficult to watch games, and unfortunately we were on the wrong side of more bad calls than went in our favor.

*Another one that jumps to mind is the PI on Crawley when both players jumped and the ball was still out of reach.

No our defense sucks. You are still Tampa Bay. Just because yall hung 48 on our non existent D dont suddenly erase mediocrity. You will be back down to Earth real soon.

Im pretty sure we had HF throughout even though we lost the last 3 games. We arent winning the SB. Not after yesterday. That game will come back and haunt us at some point. It always does.

Coaches are stuck now.

Look what happened.

Cover 2 man coverage? Just wait until the short crossing routes open up.

Zone coverage? Just wait until someone hits a gap in the zone.

Blitz? Get burned for long TD passes.

The first two are manageable sometimes because most teams will make a mistake somewhere along a 12 play drive so maybe you can hold them to a FG. Not being able to trust your CBs on fly routes is game over.
