While true, I think you can look at that in 2 different ways. Yes, he was hamstrung by those things and a lack of legitimate NFL backs behind Kamara. It’s why AK had to run between the tackles so much. (And why I’m so fired up about Miller and the thought of having 2 RBs on the field in some packages this year).
But being so hamstrung with personnel should have made him have to be more creative. And the freedom to do so. Maybe some of that was D.A. I’d personally rather have taken more chances and risk losing 42-14 with some turnovers than to play conservative and settle for more close 24-17 losses.
But oh well, it’s over. Let’s see how he adjusts with all this new personnel. Should be able to be more creative and aggressive with this group without all the risk that would have come with last year’s losers.

I think anything less than a top 12 offense this year buys him a ticket to ride unless they still make a deep playoff run. Keep in mind that he ran the #3 offense during Payton's suspension in 2012. The only reason why they were 7-9 that year was because of #31 defense.

A lot of that had to do with Drew Brees. Yes, I mentioned his name.

Let's be honest they didn't have anything offensively the last two years approaching any season Brees was here. They have done I think, a good enough job of upgrading across the board offensively to remove any excuse for poor play calling or performance.

Gruden is a great coaching mind and not everyone is as sensitive as the media is. This will probably pay dividends to the Saints in getting DC up to speed and maximizing his potential. This is a smart move.

We could hire Satan himself but if he helps us win games I’d be totally cool with it

Still, the optics are obviously bad. Bringing in someone who has been blacklisted by the league due to his racist, homophobic, misogynistic, and otherwise bigoted remarks has upset a vocal portion of the fanbase while drawing criticism from national observers.
No it didn’t. The vocal portion could not give less of a shite about football, the nfl or Gruden himself. If this were such an outrage, the players on this team wouldn’t have agreed to allow him at practice.

Haha, love it. Satans probably a decent offensive coordinator with the trick he’s always up to.

Could you see Gruden taking over Mickey Loomis spot in a few years? Hmmm

where’s this large and vocal outrage?
I haven’t heard a peep.

And you likely won't hear anything except from the squeaky media.
I read a couple of reports that Gruden spent most of his time talking to Kamara and Carr. Also spent some time with Carmichael. I think the few days Gruden spends here will prove to be time well spent.

Maybe not a non- event, but it’s not a big deal.

The way I see it, is the Saints have $150 mil. invested
($100 mil.) guaranteed in Carr to operate this offense.
As long as they are not doing anything illegal or immoral this is strictly business.

This is something brought on by technology where any idiot with a Twitter or who posts on social media is “a vocal portion of the fan base” or “a national observer”

Underhill was being a little bitch about it the first time Gruden was here as well (on the NO.football podcast). He was saying how he doesn’t like it because he thinks Gruden is a terrible human being.
Underhill is spending some of that no.football money on his wardrobe.
I see him rocking kith all the time now.
