The trade sees the Jets send the No. 7 overall pick to the New Orleans Saints for the No. 9 selection and a third-round pick. The Saints go on to select defensive tackle Mason Graham in that spot, while the Jets land tight end Tyler Warren

This would be a Loomis move

Trading up to pick up a defensive lineman.

Is Loomis trying to play the law of averages?

Trading up for a white DT would be the most Loomis thing ever. This franchise has become a joke.

Giving up a 3rd round pick for the 3rd best prospect in the draft seems like a small price if he can be a disrupter similar to Jalen Carter.

Still don't see the Saints doing it. Loomis is not a talent evaluator or decision maker, he's a facilitator. Can't imagine Kellen Moore pushing for this, don't think Jeff Ireland has the sway to convince Loomis to make this move. I'd rather see Graham drafted Top 5, would hate to have to face him two times a year with Carolina.

I hate this idea.

If anything, trade back to acquire more assets.

We need to purge the roster of wasteful spending on old vets with bloated back ended contracts.

Bring in the young guys. Do your best this season.

Following season, we should have a top 5 pick and get a shot at a real franchise prospect at QB.

With the Saints best drafts in the last 20. Years, how many times did they trade back? The Patriots made this popular, but they missed on the majority of those picks. They maintained their status based on free agency and reputation. Truth is even Belichick traded up for talent, especially in top heavy draft years. Trading back is as much of a gamble as trading up.

D-line is important, but It won't matter if we don't have a functioning offense. And Jalen hurts is a decent to good qb, but that o-line makes him a lot.... better. Unless the saints feel that DT this year is a generational talent. Only Then you go o line the following pick instead of first

The draft is 2 months away. Don't look at these rumors as facts. No one is tipping their hand as to what they will do in the draft at this point.

When you try to tell that to folks, they get upset.

This is one guy's mock based on nothing, it is not a "predicted to" as much as a "what if" scenario. And you are treating it like it says they are expected to make this trade.

Loomis does not make these decisions, I'm not sure why this is so hard for people to grasp.
