Love also has less usage in college, which bodes well for him.

Great group of RBs. Even still these RBs didn’t really pay off in terms of wins. Saquon is the only one to win a SB and he did that with his second team. Gibbs is the only one who has played on a consistently good team.

I always judge running backs by their wins and losses

we need playmakers on offense, he's probably the best we can get at our position.
the deemphasizing of RBs is a tad dated as defenses have adjusted to shut down the deep passing games of offenses, Love could be a huge weapon.
hitting on shough has expedited our timeline a bit

Not judging the RBs, judging the value of spending a top pick on a RB

Salary cap wise, it would be better to get a top DE and FA RB, having that DE on a rookie contract for 5 years, same can be said for a top WR.
Hoping we get either Bain or Tate over Love.

Well then don’t take the statement out of context. All those RBs are obviously good players. The teams that drafted them in the early first round “hit” on them which is impressive in an of itself. Even still, look at all those great running backs and tell me how many playoff wins they have with the team that drafted them.
Drafting RBs early hasn’t proven to pay off for teams which is why it’s not a very popular thing to do. Leave it to the SB to make it sound crazy.

CKM had nothing to do with those picks. But he may think Love gives him the most value at 8. If some are dead set against it maybe they just don't value the A+ draft he and his staff nailed last year.

Drafting OL early hasn’t paid off for the Saints either. It’s easy to come up with anecdotal scenarios because there are so many moving parts to the draft.
With the 8th pick I’d rather not draft someone that would go pick 20 most years, like many of the options outside of Love would

Downs, Delane, Bailey, Tate wouldn’t go 20 most years
We should be able to get one of that group

Delane and Tate are not top 8 picks most years.
Bailey is popping up with some stiffness questions. Something to keep an eye on.

You can argue the safety isn’t but he’s being compared to Kyle Hamilton and how it’s silly nobody selected him earlier.
The top CB and WR in a class will go around pick 10

Exactly my point. You shouldn’t reach for them just because they are ranked 1st at the position.
WR specifically is so deep, it would be crazy to take one at 8.

I don’t know about that just because of how premium of a position WR is and the salaries those guys are commanding
If Tate is there I think that’s a no brainer (I think he’ll go earlier but we’ll see)

I think this applies to RB more than any other spot

Pretty dumb to correlate team success with player value. Great players are picked in the top 10 by terrible teams
What is the common theme here
Jon Taylor (6 seasons)
Rivers
Wentz
Matt Ryan
Minshew
Richardson
Jones
Bijan (3 seasons)
Ridder
Cousins
Penix
Barkley (8 seasons)
Eli
Daniel jones
Glennon
Tyrod
Hurts
CMC (9 seasons)
Cam
Kyle Allen
Darnold
Jimmy G
Purdy
Jeanty had Geno his one year
Gibbs has had Goff

Love is so much better than the 2nd RB, it’s definitely not applicable.
