I would let him keep his money just to have those 15 yards.

The selective enforcement of these "anti-violence" subjective calls is bringing both the college and pro game to levels of absurdity.

When are people going to realize that outcome of so many football games at college and pro levels are decided by the Refs calling penalties that affect the outcome of said games? It's absurd to throw your emotions behind any team when the game is so often decided by Refs and Penalties.

I'd honestly rather the refs fined. Horrible no-call which altered the game.

Might be the most obvious targeting non-call I've seen since the rule was created.

And it would have put us in FG range in a 3 pt game with the #1 playoff seed on the line.

Oh well.

During circle jerk on how awesome Dallas is on this weeks Inside the NFL - Ray Lewis showed the clip and said that's how all LBs should hit RBs - without any counter discussion about it being illegal.

Normally I hate those bang bang calls where the defender wasn't actually aiming for the head.

On that one it is the literal text book definition of targeting someone's head (head down head first, launched off his feet into him, and Kamara wasn't trying to duck last second to cause the helmet to helmet).

And that was the SECOND time he did that to Kamara in that game. They missed one much earlier while he was being tackled by Vander Esch where Smith launched off his feet, head down head first into him.

Must be a percentage of their weekly/yearly/game paycheck. Maybe a certain percentage or a certain amount, whichever is greater. Who knows!!

The selective enforcement of subjective calls is apparently scripted and the refs do know better.

They are doing their jobs very well.

Every time the public forces changes to subjective calls, new subjective calls are created.

It is best to watch football from a purely entertainment point of view.

Expecting a fairly officiated game is a pipe dream.

The NFL had the ability to spot the ball correctly for Dallas when they were almost two yards short of a first but chose to give them a ridiculous first down.

The Saints did not need a challenge on that play. The NFL home office could have buzzed the officiating crew to spot the ball correctly.

For those people complaining that CSP wasted and should have saved his challenges in the game, they should realize in this game--he probably needed at least 5 challenges.

It’s negotiated in the CBA. Started at a flat number and escalated annually, right?

The uneven nature is simply a result of compounding 3% or 5% or whatever growth it was pegged to if I’m recalling correctly.

If football is "scripted" then it is even more absurd to watch it.

Throw in the fact that each telecast of a game lasts for 4 to 4 hours. Actual period of time that football play is occurring during that telecast? I don't know, maybe 15 minutes of actual playing time?

Makes things even more absurd.

But, yes, I do see very well the point made by those wondering why the subjective player-safety rules were most often forgotten when Dallas plays in JerryWorld and their season is at stake. I have witnessed Dallas getting good vibes from Refs for decades and I don't expect it to change.

Unlike the WWE, I believe the players are working very hard to succeed and win games.

I applaud the effort extended by players and coaches even in defeat.

Obviously, the NFL can not micromanage the specifics, effort, and performance of the players on each individual play.

Teams do manage to win despite officiating.

The final outcome of scores do seem massaged by officiating.

Records are made and ended by officials' calls and non calls.

Watch the games for entertainment and cheer your team's effort in the knowledge that hidden obstacles and handicaps have been placed on them.

We all like to cheer for underdogs and the bountygate contrivance makes me appreciate the Saints, Brees, and CSP even more.

The way they handled all the adversity was just as impressive as the Superbowl victory.

It is possible to find beauty in all the manufactured absurdity.
