Loved James in college, wanted him badly in the draft back then.

Today please let him go he is terrible. Bad elbow??? Thats an excuse, Ray Lewis won a sb with a big arse brace on while still playing at an All pro level. Our defense is terrible, our DT's are worse than in STL. I doubt he'll be anything less than terrible here.

I'm against moving Anthony, you're admitting you made a mistake and he simply isn't good enough. Another bad pick how shocking keep it coming mickey. Sure we can find us another good Wack 12 bust to trade up for

Just like Brandon Browner, right?

No, James Laurinaitis isn't a good NFL linebacker. In fact, as of last year, wasn't he one of the absolute worst? If anything, he's being brought in for leadership and locker room presence like you mentioned. Not to make a big impact on the field...

Well you have set yourself up quite nicely to be right as so very few have said he will have a "big Impact on the field".

The expectations for him are much lower for him than what the expectations were from Browner.

I think he migt surprise people honestly.

I think ppl try to make themselves feel better about any signing. What other choice do you have?

I'm hitching my wagon to the injury thing, and maybe he'll give us Lofton type production. Not great, but at least the defense might be ready when the snap comes. I think Anthony was in over his head last year in that regard. I don't blame him. That's a lot on a rookie.

What I'm afraid of is possibly retardibg his development.

He is a tested vet and a QB type signal caller. Anthony has a ton of potential but not as a true MLB. He needs to be put in a spot where his only job is to fly. No one is excited about JL the player. Hope is for a solid contributor. He has always been a positive pass grader on PFF. With an octane O to supply points he has usefulness here. Per Sean the DL will be a draft priority that is where we can focus on a pass rush and gap pluggers for run D.

Cam Jordan , 1st Round pick, 2nd Round pick, John Jenkins, backed by Kikaha, Edebali, Richardson, Davison, Gwacham, Eulls, Barnes

Anthony, Laurinaitis, Ellerbe backed by Robertson, Tull, Stupar, Mauti

Lewis, Breaux, Swann, Wilson, Dixon, Williams at CB

Byrd, Vacarro, Sanford, Harris, Sunseri

Along with additional Draft picks, UDFA's, or FA adds yet to be determined this unit top to bottom is much better than a year ago.

Not to mention the fact that we are almost guaranteed to go DL in the draft.

I think that we feel confident with out DBs for some reason.

Not for some reason.

We have a probowl caliber safety, a fringe probowl corner, arguably the best CB contract in the NFL, a 1st round safety opposite of Byrd, a 3rd and 5th round pick to back up the starting CB's, and Wilson a solid vet nickel.

Nowhere else on our team at any level can you find that much NFL talent/depth. Compared to the front 7 our secondary is dome patrol.

That says more about how awful our front 7 is and not the strength of our secondary.

Byrd was a probowler in Buffalo, he has not been anything close to pro bowl caliber here and our defense isn't really set up to get him back to that level.

Keenan's been hurt and the last season and a half hasn't been good.

I only DV trolls and you are not one of them. I understand your points...However our DL a year ago was shameful. Our LB's had 2 rooks and an oft injured vet.

It would be sunshine pumping to say all goes well we stacked/league fricked. However our potential is also evident. Breaux is a NFL starter, Vacarro is an elite box safety, Swann is a solid NB. Lewis is a wildcard but so is Williams. Wilson is an elite 4th IMO.
