I don't get the hatred for Jameis on this board. The team was revived under him.
We have so much invested in our receivers that it makes sense to get the most out of them.
Using Carr is like having a Ferrari but only driving it in 1st or 2nd gear.

First link after googling "Derek Carr Trade"
ESPN

The Saints, who finished 7-10 last season, were among three teams, including the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, to have pursued Carr for several weeks.
NFL.com reported the same.
You kinda owe him an apology.

No one here hates Jamies. That's a bullshite narrative from the Jamies lovers.

And Winston is like driving that Ferrari in 6th gear right into a fricking tree.

We outscored MN 16-0 with Jameis in the game. Momentum and energy COMPLETELY shifted.
You're blind if you say otherwise.

It is far better to have a QB who throws for 160 yards (100 of them to WRs), 2 TDs and 2 INTs than to have a QB who throws for 83 yards (40 of them to WRs), 0 TDs and 0 INTs in equal number of series.

Nobody arguing that. Winston will never start over Carr due to egos. Taysom > both of them.

Jameis will lose you the game but make you go "wow" when doing it.
Carr will lose you the game but make you go "wow" when doing it.
Two different wows, two similar results

This is the dumbest thing ever stated on this site. Ban yourself.

That you say this as if it's nothing shows just how little you know about and understand football. What a tool

I said Carr wouldn't be playing anywhere else if not here. I was really referring to at this moment, but Drunkboy always has to chime in so I'll play ball.
Drunkard said other teams "showed interest"
The two teams that allegedly showed interest according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN: Jets and Pathers.
This joke kinda writes itself.
Well the Jets ended up signing a top 5 quarterback of all time for the same amount of money that we signed Carr. (inb4 hindsight comeback about Rodgers injury)
And the panthers used their #1 pick to take a chance on a heisman quarterback.
Ok so lets use our common sense and ask ourselves, how much 'interest' did those two teams have in derek 'just got fired by the raiders' Carr.

I agree with you that Carr is by far better than Jameis, but I hate that graphic. Drew came to us at age 27 with 4 years as a full time starter. Carr came to us at 32 years old with 9 years of starting experience. Not to mention the league favors passing much more so now than it did 17 years ago.

At the games most critical point, he showed absolutely zero ability or want to protect the fricking football. It’s fricking insane.

And I know I’m gonna get flamed for this, but literally the only people I come across that say this are black dudes.. why??

If given the opportunity, Jameis would have thrown 5 interceptions.
He was just heaving shite up there; I’m not sure what his deal was, but that was wild.

Also I’m not sure if Jameis checked out of any running plays, but we had time to run the ball and did not which didn’t help.

Lol. I’m usually two years ahead of everyone on here. Don’t try to even keep up.

Congratulations on knowing more than both ESPN and the NFL.
It was stated that teams were reported interested. You called bullshite. I provided evidence. Your response to that is literally “ok yeah but not really though”

I’ve yet to see Jamie’s audible a single fricking play other than calling for a hot route.

Let me drop some knowledge on you. With all the injured starters around the league, the saints couldn’t get any interest in a trade for Winston from anyone outside the Vikings. And supposedly the Vikings weren’t offering much. So we couldnt even get a mid round pick with Winston’s salary only being less than 5 million.
Think what the Saints would fetch if Carrs salary was less than 5 million on the open market right now. You would have had multiple teams bidding.
And three teams had interest, but would have been far more if he was willing to sign for less. Some teams are not going to show interest if the price tag is starting at 33+ a year. That’s the market he set, wrong or not, the saints were willing to pay it. Why didn’t we pay 20 a year? It’s because there would have been a boatload other teams interested in paying that for him. It’s called free market.
I’m sure when shopping for a car, you not going look at the Porsche dealership when all you can afford is a Kia. Why waste your time? Teams weren’t wasting their time if they weren’t going to meet his salary demands.
Winstons agent checked the market when he was gonna be released in the off-season. And decided to take a pay cut to 5 million to stay. Thats a fact. That tells me he had little to no interest around the league.
