And that’s quite literally it. His pocket presence is trash. Dude has legs but no concept of when to tuck it and run. He doesn’t even know where the line of scrimmage is as evidence by his pump faking well past the blue line. His ball placement is below average at best, and he has a severe lack of situational awareness.

Resigning him was a waste of both time and money, and at this stage I’m almost actively pulling for more interceptions just to expedite the inevitable.

Either he is actually holding the team back, or we’re actually garbage no matter who is playing QB. Regardless, it would be nice to find out before the season is totally lost.

Where are the screens?

Carolina is stacking the box.

I can argue he doesn’t. 1-11 isn’t exactly great

I’ll go ahead and disagree with this as I think it’s more about his back at this point (we saw him run a lot early last year, including when a dirty play fricked his knee up).

Everything else is spot on IMO

We've been throwing screens. Had a good one to an open Olave right after that deep pass.

Haven't been a lot of them but they've been there. We've been hitting a good bit of screens today because of that defense as well. I'd say most of JW's completions today were screens and slants. Need to keep hitting those until the defense backs off.

Even his deep ball isn’t good. Being able to throw far isn’t the same as a good deep ball. Even on the completion to Olave he threw inside when the throw should have been outside.

All he has is a strong arm actually. His deep ball accuracy is awful. Noodle arm Brees was way more accurate on deep balls

I'm talking about running back and tight end screens.

The one to olave wasn't a screen really.

Something something blind squirrel. How many times did they try a deep ball to Olave last week? Worked once last week and Olave fumbles the ball due to a contact with Patrick Swayze's ghost. This week he completes the catch and we proceed to get no points from the red zone possession. This offense is absolutely putrid. The thing is they have talent so it's really quite perplexing.

That Bucs game was the first game of 2021 where he was actually trying to run. I’d challenge you to go back and take a look at some of those first 5 games, because he was totally doing the same shite while healthy. It drove me nuts.

Olave made a great adjustment on that play. All we can ask is to keep the ball close on those passes and the WR make the play.

But yeah it wasn't incredibly well placed.

The ball to olave today was a good ball.

The other two games his deep balls were bad

He is missing/not seeing the easy throws. People are open.

It was underthrown/late thrown and inside when he should have led Olave to the outside and away from coverage.

It wasn't terribly thrown....but when all we've been hearing is how great of a downfield threat he brings....I'd like to see better.
