It will be Winston not Taysom Hill...

Sorry, guys. Taysom Hill is not the answer long term. Unfortunately, we will go from the GOAT and man of class to licking fingers finna to eat.
It is what it is; but the writing is on the wall.
The days of being comfortable when our QB drops back to pass are numbered.

1-year deal. Let's see how it plays out. If Winston doesn't progress, we probably shoot for a third option.

Jameis signed a one year deal. Isn't Drew on the hook for another two years in tandem with Taysom?
Look, the Taysom thing is amazing. I hope they never decide to make him a starting QB, but if they continue to use him like they do it will be very difficult for defenses to defend him, Mike Thomas, Kamara and Cook all the time.
I'm very happy with the Jameis move...I don't know how long term it will be. But this, at the very least, can help Winston.

We paid one of them close to 17 million dollars to be here locked up in 2021. His name was not Jameis Winston.

Strangely enough I’m ok with seeing if we can get the guy who threw for 5100 and 33 tds to decrease the number of turnovers he creates. If not move on

Well he came here to learn so I'll wait to give a final grade to crablegs.

You missed the point of the thread. It’s going to be Winston.
Hill won’t be the starter for the Saints.
Ever...

You missed my point.
I got your point right away and agree. JW will be QB #2 most likely.
I was responding to your doom and gloom ending...
I think there is a chance for JW to mature and improve his game.
We will see.

I am not a Winston fan at all.......
But if ever there was a time to take a chance on his talent and see if hes worth something......its now while Drew and Taysom are here. So, we will see

It’s certainly possible

There was never a time to take a chance on him. If all this guy did was take some crab legs as a teenager, sure. You do something dumb once, learn, move on.
This guy is a piece of shite.

It's totally illogical to think that Winston sees much of the field in 2020. Hill is the #2. If something happens to Brees Hill is the guy that takes over, period. He knows the playbook.
Winston is coming to this team at a time when who knows if the team will get significant time to practice together before the season starts. There's no way I believe Payton would throw Winston in not being confident he would succeed somewhat unless he had absolutely no other option. If he shows promise, and looks teachable and isn't too much of a drama shite show he'll get another 1 years deal to compete in 2021.
IMO Winston signed here because he saw that happened to Bridgewater and (Hopefully he's mature enough) to realize his best play is to sit back, out of the spotlight and learn as much as he can. Go about this like it's his last chance and being taken seriously as a starting QB. Because it quite possibly is.
ETA: Bold to better explaining my point for all who think Winston is coming in to be the #2 QB.
Yea my first explanation of that was not very good.

Winston will have to be much more of a team player to make this work
I do think this is it for Brees

You honestly think Payton is going to throw in a guy with ZERO experience to a guy that has years of experience?
Posted on 4/27/20 at 11:52 am to Errerrerrwere
Yeah seriously
One guy has 7 career passes and the other led the league in passing yards and TDs. Yet Sean is going to start the gadget player.

Sure. Could be. Practice will tell. SP is going to evaluate both Jameis and Taysom and we’ll see who he thinks is better to replace Drew. Writing is on the wall.

how fricking stupid are you? What do you think the organization is paying Taysom 17 mill to do in 2021? Play flex tight end 8 snaps a game?

Keep holding out hope that he’s the anointed one. It’s all going to come crashing down.

The same gadget plays they’ve been running the last few years.
