We're trading up to get Baker Mayfield. If Drew's contract structure and what we've done this offseason isn't evident of that I don't know what is.

We're trading up to 10 (Oakland), getting in front of Miami, and drafting Baker Mayfield. Get on the train, cuz it's happening! And I'd love it the way this team is set up!

Swap 10 for 28, give 2018 5th, 2019 1st, 2019 3rd.

Let this kid study under Brees for a year and see if he's ready to take the reigns in 2019. If not, we still have Brees (with a hefty price tag) and Baker gets 2 years under Brees.

For the FUTURE of this team and organization, and for the sake of us not having a HUGE drop-off when Brees does hang them up; this is the move to make. Sean P knows it.

If we get Suh, then my guess is BPA round one, OL round 2

If not, then I think they go Defense Round 1, OL round 2

DE, DT & OLB are still our biggest needs. WR & TE or even OL if the value is there

Yeah I knew that, meant to type 3, but my brain farted

I'm just guessing here but I feel like they don't see anyone at the WR/TE position that they think is worth #27 and that by the time they get to round 3, there won't be anyone left at that position who isn't a project. That's why I think OL because A) we need it and B) you can still find someone great in the 3rd

I would love to get Kirk and if we get Suh I'd be very surprised if we pass on him

We are going to get good value on a FA WR or 2. Still a lot of serviceable guys that fit us well. Rookie WR and TE aren’t plug and play production usually

We won’t neglect a defensive playmaker of one drops. I’d day the same for OL if a Hernandez or mcglinchey type drops

Yea its about as wide open as it can get. If you're talking all picks, it will be a mix of both. Our biggest needs are still on defense though

Only issues I have with that are:

1. Do we really certain Payton sticks around post Brees? If we draft Mayfield than that's a sign for sure he plans to. I'm not totally convinced.
2. Mayfield is the most ready to start guy coming out imo. We really want to use those assets to stash him on the bench for two years?
3. We're in win now mode. Go all in for Brees' last hurrah and worry about his replacement later. We could use those assets to get guys that can help this year. Mayfield won't help (unless the catastrophic happens and Brees goes down)

I honestly think Offense may be a bigger problem than Defense if we get Suh. Defense will be pretty stacked.

Offense had serious consistency issues last year and was dreadful on 3rd down for a SP offense.

There is a lot of value in FA at WR right now so I see us picking one up. But I think SP will want a weapon or two, for sure.

Yeah, this flurry of FA moves is a no-brainer that a Mayfield acquisition is the goal.

He signed a 5 year $45 mil extension a year ago knowing Brees was heading to free agency this season. The only way he leaves is if he's fired, which isnt likely considering his hefty salary ownership would have to eat

If we land Suh we still need upgrades at OLB and DE in case Okafor can’t come back.

However we do need another WR and TE. It will have to come down to BPA

I do but I don’t think he’s a guy that will come in right away and have an impact. He’s a little undersized to play 4-3 DE.

He will likely go to a 3-4 team with an OLB need. That seems like a better fit for him. With the Packers signing Wilkerson I wouldn’t be surprised if Landry went there

There are some good possibilities for us on offense at #27:

WR's Christian Kirk and DJ Moore

TE's Mike Gesicki, Hayden Hurst, and Dallas Goedert

C/G's Billy Price and James Daniels

QB's Lamar Jackson and Mason Rudolph

I wouldn't mind adding another LB if either Leighton Vander Esch or Rashaan Evans are still there at #27. Right now we've got Demario Davis, Alex Anzalone (if he can stay healthy) and...?
