Is there a front office in the NFL more delusional than the Saints?

Adding mediocre past their prime players under the premise that this is a playoff team and Super Bowl contender was insane. Over paying for an unproven QB was not too smart either. Continually moving up in the draft and reaching for players who most often don’t pan out is also a hallmark of this front office. Last but not least, Loomis thinks its economics that had so many Saints fans no show. This organization is a dumpster fire and its time to clean house.

Panthers and recently the Washington Red Commander Team have been up there but we're certainly giving it our best effort to be ranked first in the retard power rankings

Unproven? Carr is 27th all-time in passing yards..

Overpay? Sure.. but it's not the stupidest bet in the world to think that a guy who put up those numbers for arguably the worst run organization in the NFL, might actually do better coming to a (previously) winning organization..

Agree 100%. The most disturbing part is that i am 100% sure that the entire front office will be firmly in place next year as well. Allen a 50/50 chance that he will be here too and yet another 8-9 or 7-10 season ahead of us.

And oh, another DE drafted in the top 10 from some obscure school that has a history of injuries and a total of 4.5 sacks over a 3 year period.

Sad state of affairs

This roster should have run away with this division. It shouldn’t even be close.

Yet here we are. We need a complete overhaul of the coaching staff, better offensive lineman and a pass rusher. That would put us right behind the Eagles and 49ers in the NFC.

I was pilloired around here ten years ago when I said that the Saints needed to reform the FO and hire a true "football guy" to be a true GM. Loomis is "just the bean counter", I was told when I used to criticize him.

The dysfunction of the Saints FO is finally coming home to roost. They need to restructure. Get a real football GM.

He’ll be lucky to win 5 games with that schedule next season.

idk why people keep saying that

Allen has struggled mightily all year and even gettin to 8 this year may not happen and that will be with a better roster and an easier schedule than 2024

With our cap if we don't do simple jack restructures we will be cutting some players, possibly starters this offseason

Our division will get better and our schedule even if slightly will get harder...doubt we play mostly rookie, first year starters or backup QBs for most of the year again probably draw some tougher divisions too

Allen won't sniff mediocre next season. I could see the Saints potentially flattening. Cam won't be better next year..he will be worse. Demario and Tyrann will also continue to slow down...if our D continues to regress and it should...I don't think a new OC is enough to offset it

They have a real football GM. His name is Ireland and he basically runs everything minus the money. They don’t need to clean house with that. They need to clean house with the entire coaching staff. Hire someone who works well with Ireland and shares the same vision. Mickey doesn’t make football decisions. He makes the money work. Not sure you know how this team operates. Ireland is doing fine. This team needs to realize that window closed, regroup, hire a staff that’s down for a rebuild, and get rid of the old contracts or let them expire.

If what you say is true then it was Ireland who decided to bring Carr to the Saints for that contract.

I was a Derek Carr fan and had high hopes but it is evident he’s not the answer. It is easy to rack up yards when you are always behind. However, he is serviceable with better line play and a consistent running game.

It’s obvious, that Dennis Allen made the decision to bring in Carr. Loomis just rubber stamped the decision just like Allen being a lazy hire.

If by serviceable you mean you are OK with him being the QB next year because we can't go another direction and you have accepted it then I agree with you

If by serviceable you mean you are OK with him playing out the entirety of his contract with us and we build the team around him...I would like you to do the Tidepod challenge and swallow

Those stats don’t mean a whole lot when you’re one of the worst red zone QBs in the league.

Imagine having the ego to criticize a professional front office, while not having the intelligence to know the difference between they’re, their, and there

The internet has made some y’all retarded

Loomis does not actually believe the Lions fans buying up tickets to the game is economically motivated. However if he acknowledges that it is a function of the quality of the product on the field, then he must face some harsh realities and questions he doesn't seem to want to. However, if Saints' fans don't renew season tickets in great enough numbers then the heat will turn up on him. If nothing is done to address leadership issues in this offseason, reupping for season tickets would make those season ticketholders complicit.
