One of the best sports hernia docs in the country works out of Philly. If this is the case, he'll be back on the field within a week or so.

We've had this damn injury to one of our guys every damn preseason for what feels like 5 years. Shockey, Greer, Smith. They were all out longer than a week.

I just had a hernia repaired in March. It sucks for a solid two weeks and you don't want to do anything, much less play football, for a month.

But then I didn't have the best hernia surgeon in the world (or whatever)... still...

Trade for a draft pick and then we land Bart Scott that's my feeling. Rob likes Bart Scott and it would fit better then vilma. He most likely would take less money.

My sources are telling me that the Saints are looking to trade Vilma. If he is injured he will be cut outright.

As far as Smith goes, SP really likes him and believes he can contribute, but....being cut is a possibility.

I think Smith can contribute all of his salary back to the team, because he's been robbing us for years, but he won't.

I'm curious Patty. What kind of shape do you think Will Smith is in for his new role as starting OLB?

Oh definitely slimmer. He reminds me of early Chris Farely.

He's the Janikowski of Outside Linebackers.

My brother just texted me that Vilma is getting a second opinion on something. Any news yet?
