Could Ryan Griffin aka RG4, be our future starting quarting qb? I know drew has a good maybe 4-5 seasons left hopefully.

Yea he is off to a good start right now though, he has a good mento drew!! Who knows years in the future learning under drew he may be ready, but drew isn't done yet.

slow down a bit. He looked good, but he wasn't great. While his poise was nice and he made some good throws, there was still some inconsistency in him. Time will tell, but he looks to be a great backup. Replacement for Brees? We are still a long way from finding that out

No. But I don't mind him as a backup at all.

I've given up trying to predict who will or won't be good at the QB position in the pro's.

If teams worth a billion dollars, their staffs and scouts, being paid high dollar to do nothing but study QB's can't get it right well then I will give myself a pass.

RGIV is in the right place to succeed so who knows.

In my opinion I think he could be a starter in CSP's system in a couple years. I think if Drew would hang up the cleats after the 2015 season (God please no!), Griffen could take over after the years of studying under Drew and be successful. I'm not saying he would be prolific, but he could definitely be a game manager. Probably a top 20 QB in the NFL

Drew is playing until 2020 bro. He feels 25.

I'm not sure if he'll be around here 5 years down the line, but this is the first year that I'm confident we would make the playoffs if we lost Drew for 4 games.

Hope so but we'll see. I gave it a two year timeframe because most teams don't usually keep the same backup QB for more than 4-5 years

I don't know, does it even work that way anymore? Honestly I look around the league at the next generation of QBs that are going to win superbowls (probably) and I don't see a lot of guys who sat on the bench for three seasons before they were ready to start.

He hasn't been tested in a high-pressure, final drive, last chance to win the game type of scenario in the pros yet either. He's had pretty good play on the offensive line up to this point as well. He hasn't shown how well he plays under duress. I think that he throws well and makes good, quick decisions, which is an 'early indicator' of being of the mindset to play well in stressful game situations. That's exactly what you want to see out of a potential starter early in their career. Could he start? He looks as good or better than any other backup that I've seen thus far this preseason.

I would say he has <1% chance of being the starting QB for the New Orleans Saints.

Exactly, I'm just going off what I've seen and translated it to potential.

What do you think were those chances that Drew was going to have a season-ending (possibly career-ending) injury going into the 2005 season?

I agree, he shows great potential. Being our backup quaterback under drew brees is fine with me. I was just stating hypothetically if he could be a starter, not neccesarilly our starting qb.

No. Odds are really slim. Good cheaper backup for now. Really he is almost irrelevant. There are three main possibilities if he plays during a regular season game. We are blowing the other team out. We have already secured our position in the playoffs. Or we're screwed.

I'm not sure I see his ceiling being a whole lot better than either of the Billy Joes. They were our starters at QB too. But do we really want that???

So I guess my answer is, I hope not.
