re: I’m not sure this team is good enough to pay a RB what we just did Etienne.

The Jags would be making a mistake if they let Etienne hit free agency after what he showed he can do in Liam Coen's offense.
The jags now have a FO and GM who are VERY confident in their algorithm for finding mid round picks that become plus starters. It’s an offshoot of the Rams model. You’re not likely to see them pay the Devin Lloyd’s and Etienne’s of the world.
No idea if it works but it’s way better than Baalke’s system

Helps to have Matthew Stafford and McVay anchoring your franchise

Kamara and a mixture of dogshit, yes. We’ve needed new blood at RB for some time. But muh money!
Not “muh money” but we paid top 3 RB money for a poor facsimile of Kamara. He may be better than Kamara today, but is he elite RB money better, and he isn’t the kind of back that you see in Moore’s system as a main cog. He’s a luxury piece, and unless Moore thinks that cog is already on the roster, asking Etienne to be a 20+ carry guy is asking a lot.

So a top 10 back getting top 3 money…

Because some people are just miserable.

Yep, thats why I brought up cap %. Its a better perspective in regards to how good or bad that contract is.
In some people's minds, the cap is still 150 million lol

I posted a video from Florio and he addresses that about Mickey. Cap dollar today isn't worth a cap dollar tomorrow

Jags ditched Etienne because their rookie is just as good.

It’s the model that GOT Stafford.

Disagree there. Tuten’s vision is pretty bad. He definitely has more burst but Etienne was much better at taking what was available. They are very confident in bringing in more guys though.

There’s only one 4.4, 6’ 233 lb RB in the NFL
Etienne is the same size as Kamara and has ate 300 touches multiple times in his short career. He can catch and run. Every year the new contracts are resetting the market. The fact that he’s top 3 paid means little. He will fall out of the top 10 highest paid sooner than later, then you can have a value :)

It’s not top 3 money though. He’s the 7th highest paid right now. That will change.
We also have Devin Neal who I thought played very well. We might actually have something with this current group.
