I'll try this again - I was told this was Drew Brees last year

I made this thread the day of the playoff game and it got whacked. Bad timing I guess. I thought this was a sports board to discuss sports and I received sports-related information so I thought I would bring it here for discussion.
I was told, that someone who deals face-to-face with Drew Brees, asked a series of questions in which Drew hinted to that person that he wasn't coming back next year and that he was most likely retiring.
What made me think to bring this back up is an OP that's currently on the first page that claims the Saints are serious about trying to move up to get Joe Burrow. I'm not saying that's true or not but I just thought this might lend credence to that idea if Sean knows that he has to get a replacement for Brees next year and he doesn't think Teddy is the answer. One could also say the way Sean called the games with Teddy in there also backs this up.
Inb4 -
"frick you"
"you don't know shite"
"multiple sauces"
"Drew Brees won't retire before Tom Brady"
Etc.
I'm just relaying information here, I'm not taking a stand.

Inb4 let Teddy and Drew go and start Taysom.

The Saints are interested in Burrow and will be very aggressive in that pursuit.

The chance the saints go after burrow is 0%
The chance Brees doesn’t come back is like 5%
Stop being a mouth breather

The list of teams not interested is probably shorter.

Would the Saints trade Cameron Jordan, Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and picks to get Joe Burrow?

The chance the Bengals trade is less than that. People always forget that 2 teams are required for trades. It's not Madden where you just keep loading up your trade offer until the computer accepts it

Michael Thomas
They'll try their best to center a deal around other pieces but ultimately Thomas could end up being the sacrifice that is required to land Burrow.

No one knows. Drew Brees says openly he still wants to play. QBs often go through this at the end of their career. Brett Favre went through this 6 times over.

Lmao and who the frick is he going to throw the ball to?
It is painfully obvious after Thomas there is no wide reciever on this roster that is worth a shite.

I don't want him to retire but if he does I hope he doesn't pull a Andrew Luck and do it during the preseason.

Or more to the point, maybe the Saints are trying, but so are a bunch of other teams with better draft assets and our chances of getting him are 0%.

I’d be absolutely up for doing whatever it takes to get him even if it meant a few lean years but there just isn’t any way.
He needs to pull and Eli/elway and just demand it.

Burrow is not happening, but even if they do draft a top flight replacement for Brees, that doesn't mean he's not coming back for one more go. The two issues are related but not co-dependent.

2 year ban for you if Brees doesn’t retire.

Of course the Saints are interested in Burrow, I’m sure at least a dozen teams are. What’s unlikely is the Saints outbidding everyone else to get that top pick.

It’s time to move forward we tried the 2 years it didn’t work out

Would probably take them plus the entire 2020 draft, and 1st in 2021. Giving up someone like MT might save us a 2021 1st but that's A LOT to give up, just MT himself.

That would be bad for Burrow.
To trade up to get him, they will probably have to completely gut the team and give away future draft picks leaving Joe with very little to work with.
Sure he’ll have MT, but that might literally be his only weapon.
