If Rizzi gets the HC job it's hard to tell who he bring on for his staff.

I feel pretty confident the he keeps Phil Galiano as ST coordinator since he hand picked him to take of the role when he moved up to interim HC.

That said, I have no clue about OC and DC, my fear would be that he keeps many coached from this current staff to fill out those roles.

That's likely inevitable at this point.

He will have a tough time hiring the best OC and DC because they will believe he’s not a long term HC. No one will take a job if they believe they will be out of a job in a year or two. I don’t see a lot of OC candidates wanting to work with Carr.

I think quite possibly the only thing Loomis has not screwed up this off-season is his commitment to letting the new HC decide on Carrs fate and not hamstringing the new staff with Carr by restructuring his contract yet.

Restructuring Carrs contract is a no brainer to getting cap compliant for 2025 but only if you're committed to having on your roster going forward.

They're obviously not committed to Carr, and could be further evident by a recent report that Derek has moved himself and his family back out to Fresno, CA.

IMo hs offseason is going to suck as far as bringing in talent, but it will be offset by the knowledge that they finally ate the shite sandwich and dumped Carr.

Another interesting thing to think about, If Moore gets the HC job he could bring former Saint Doug Nussmeier back to New Orleans, Making Garrett Nussmeier and intriguing target in 2026.

In all fairness Rizzi could be thinking along the same track if he gets the job.

Also you gotta look at our WR and tight end room lol. You’re not getting a respectable QB with that awful WR room .

Olave was a complete wasted pick. Many said it at the time, but you cannot take a receiver that high who has absolutely zero physicality

At what point did we restructure it last year? Wouldn't be something they'd wait until the start of the new league year?

eta: wasn't until the last week of February. I wouldn't read too much into them not doing it yet unfortunately

Last season there wasn't much of a choice. Allen was coach and Carr was his QB. I'm not saying it's a done deal but IMO there's definitely smoke there.

I know don't, Olave is a solid #2 and Shaheed has shown to be a solid 2/3. Unfortunately both were hurt this season. Not figuring out how to get MT healthy or finding someone one to replace him as the #1 is what hurt. If they have a solid #1 maybe liel McMillin and healthy Olave and Shaheed the WR room doesn't look nearly as bad.

Johnson has been a huge disappointment since signing his contract. The TE room definitely needs revamping.

Regardless if you move on from Carr you're basically committing to diving onto figuring what you have in Heaner or Rattler for the 2025 season and drafting your HC's guy in 2026 for sure. If you add anything on FA it will be a vet journeyman at league minimum as a injury backup.

That will happen the first week of March since we have until either 3/12 or 3/15 to be cap compliant. The conversations have probably already started with the players, but they don't need to send the final deals in until March

I don't think even loomis is arrogant enough to think people will accept a rizzi hire.

It’s not as bad as you make it out. It’s just Olave is a 2 and shaheed is a 3. Both are at the top of the ladder as 2 and 3s.

Really need to draft McMillian if he drops or move down a few picks and draft Burden. Receivers would be a strength of the team then.

But he is just arrogant enough to not care if fans don't like the hire.

I would legit melt if we hire Rizzi.

I’m open minded to pretty much any qualified coach. I’m fine if Moore is the hire and I hope he changes things and makes us a contender.

If we went through the process and couldn’t find and hire a better coach than our current specials team coach weeks after everyone else was hired… Damn!

You might want to get on some blood pressure medicine (or more if you’re already on them) in the next few days.
