And Pels I wonder if he’d have chosen the franchise heirs differently. Today’s score doesn’t reflect how far appear the Commanders and Saints are. The current results of both franchises are destroying the city.

Yes, Rita and her family were spoiled entitled brats who eventually got what they deserve, but Tom played a part in raising them so he owns their entitlement.

It’s obvious Rita would’ve been a better hands on owner with undeniably better results. That LeBlanc adopted blood could only help. I hope Gayle eventually sees she’s failed in every business she has led and does what Tom originally wanted and gifts the teams to Rita.

Tom Benson owned the Saints for 20 years before he decided to put together a decent team. This of course was immediately after he held the team for ransom and made the taxpayers foot the bill for stadium upgrades.

Then and now his family would move this team in the blink of an eye if it made them money and the league allowed it.

Rita was not capable of owning a team. When Benson first bought the team he made a great hire in Finks. Ditka was a disaster Mueller was good for a brief time. Then the run with Payton. Overall Benaon ownership has been solid. There have been muck worse ownership groups in NFL history. John Mecom being one of them

So the teams in 1987, 1990, 1991, 1992, and 2000 weren't decent? All 5 made the playoffs. He bought the team in 1985 for the 1986 season. He started whining to the state when they didn't make the playoffs. That's an awful post bro

Tom Benson was about money. He loved money. He would care about who was making the most money. As a long time Saints fan, I have no love lost for Tom Benson.

Thank God for Paul Tagliabue saving the franchise from being moved after Katrina.

Agree but Gayle softened him up in a way he never learned and is why his and her name are on buildings and stadiums all over the country. He learned to love to give and Gayle has continued that in his memoriam.

Where Gayle failed was the business acumen, which was Rita’s strength. I’d much rather a selfish bitch owner who can lead a winning franchise vs a benevolent caretaker who has their staff and players walk all over her. It’s why the GM, HC, medical staff, players and everyone in between in 2 organizations just suck.

Hopefully someone talks sense into her and she comes to the conclusion she’s in over her head and gifts the teams to what Tom originally wanted.

Saints won 1 playoff game in the 20 years Benson owned the team prior to Drew Brees.

And he only settled for those upgrades after the league told him the wouldn’t allow him to move the team immediately post Katrina.

Anyone who knows Rita knows this is completely wrong. Entitlement does not equal business acumen

Let see under Gayle’s watch she inherited a SB caliber team.

She lost Sean Payton because she was weak and meek with the NOLA no call. She should’ve been screaming from the mountaintops how the NFL and its corrupt refs screwed a rare woman owner.

Since losing Sean and Brees, she turned a blind eye to Loomis giving him carte Blanche to keep with the kicking the can strategy with the failed belief the roster was still Super Bowl worthy. The cap today is an utter embarrassment with the Saints in the early innings of a lost decade.

Any owner approving Dennis Allen is clueless and the results bear that out. It won’t surprise if Vance Joseph is the next coach.

The Pels even with the incredible good luck of winning the lottery ball twice for Anthony Davis and Zion are now among the worst teams in the NBA, similar position to the Saints.

The Dome of today is back to seats filled with opponent fans taking over large sections and Saints fans back to bags and the boo chorus.

Scouting sucks, the medical staff is horrible with constant injuries, simply put there is no hope.

Sell the team or gift it to its rightful owner.

I feel your pain, my friend. Gayle is a clueless owner, without business sense, that couldn't run a sno ball stand. The problem is she gave Loomis the keys to the kingdom, and his ideals, and beliefs are obsolete, with todays NFL market. The business concept is still riding the coat tails from the Brees/Payton era, IMO. The good teams in the league have aggressive owners, with an excellent scouting department. Take for example Pittsburgh. The Roooney's never gave out huge contracts. They always built through the draft, hired a coach that put trust into his coordinators that developed players. Think for a minute. Pittsburgh has 3 HC's since 1969. The ownership keeps up with the times, and the changing league. The Saints simply need to move off Loomis, and start fresh. I'm not sure Gayle is smart enough to realize that.

Qualifying for the playoffs is “winning” to you?

No wonder this team blows arse for the vast majority of its existence. Because the fans allow it.

The diocese just needs to introduce Gayle to a 55-60 year old man with good business and football sense.
