Better question is how many people were old enough to watch and remember when drew was on the chargers?

Secondly, brees got a lot better when pairing up with Payton. Hof better.

I don’t get the hate for Payton. He was the driver in the locker room, brought bite to the saints. Did y’all expect him to die while coaching? Y’all expect him to hand over pure gold to the saints when he left?

It’s the bitterness of how he’s walking away and the shite show of a roster that he’s leaving behind. The angst wouldn’t be as bad if he were truly retiring, but it was known as soon as he announced it that he just didn’t want to be in NOLA anymore. Causing a lot of the “are we not good enough for you” anger/resentment towards him. Especially when you also consider how much control/say he had in the roster makeup

He went 18-4 with Teddy, Taysom and Winston. 0-5 with Siemian and Ian Book. As long as you’re honest with yourself ..

That’s a good point but I would argue that when Brees didn’t have Payton or any legitimate coach for a whole season he still had 43 TDs and over 5k yards…

I think it’s hard not to acknowledge that this team took a step back once Drew left. Drew haters can come out about his “noodle arm” but we were still very good. Winning divisions going on playoff runs is better than what we have right now by far….

Payton’s suspension was 7 seasons into his Saint tenure, he had already led the league in yards, TDs and completion percentage 3x. Two time offensive POY and two time MVP runner up. He was a finished product by them, and Carmichael was just running Payton’s system anyway. Brees knew it better than Pete, I’d reckon

And I am not a drew hater. He could’ve played til he was 50 far as I’m concerned.

As my post history will show, I have a dislike of Brees because of the anthem, kneeling and all that bs. But I'll be the first to admit he is the greatest to wear a saints uniform. Payton wouldn't have teams wanting him to coach them if not for Brees. Brees made Payton, he proved how great his "offensive mind" was one year without Brees. That's why he quit , going out on a winning record

Care to elaborate on your extensive knowledge?

I know enough to know we have four wins, not three. If you profess to be a Saints fan it’s probably not too much to actually know what our record is.

I barely watch this season because all you see is Dalton running straight into a defender trying to buy time or kamara fumbling. But again I ask do you care to refute any points I made in the post you originally responded too?

I assume not because it took you a while too come up to the genius response you just posted

Honestly I'd rather be back in the mora days than where we are now, at least our defense was good

That's an odd way of spelling "Winston".

Well that statement shows you haven't watched none of the season. Winston is the interception machine and Dalton takes sacks and Taysom may pass one time a game or run up the middle to the right for 0 yards except for the occasional play where he breaks one

You quite literally posted this. How can you possibly claim to know more about what's happened this season when you quite literally admitted to barely watching any of it.

I've watched all but one game. Every time Winston tries to scramble, it's right into a defender. Dalton did a hell of a job last week extending plays. Hell....he was our leading rusher.

And taking sacks isn't the worst outcome of a play. Forcing a panicked throw to the other team or fumbling is far worse.

but continue injecting your opinion on what the team is doing that you barely watch.

Dalton this season has 14 touchdowns, 7 interceptions and 14 sacks.

Give me a minute and I will pull Jameis numbers

But those probably wouldn't be that bad if we could get our 100 million dollar reciever to stop having periods every frickING day

Jameis has 11 sacks , 5 touchdown and 7 interceptions

Worse numbers but I was not arguing who is the best quarterback to lead our team, simply stating facts. Why are you so pissed off? Did you lose a bet or something

Carmichael is a terrible OC. There was no Payton around that year and there’s no Payton now. This is even more credit to Brees leading league in TDs and Yards with him as his OC and no Payton as coach. He was handicapped having Carmichael from what we see this year and still led league in TDs and yards

Also if Payton developed Brees then why hasn’t he been able to develop ANY OTHER QB IN SAINTS HISTORY to make them worth a shite?

Come on man, you have to follow the narrative of the board. Payton is the greatest ever, he didn't get drew on a cheaper deal to start because drew wanted to prove the chargers they fricked yo lol, he didn't find gold at the end of the draft with colston, he didn't trade away multiple picks to put defensive players on the injured list, he didn't draft the failed quarterbacks you listed. According to this board he is a fricking genius that can do no wrong

Do you always assume people on the other end of a discussion are pissed off? Or did the laughing emoji not convey the correct emotion?

either way.....you opinion on "who is doing what" this season is irrelevant as you've already stated barely watching any of the season.

Still don't have the brain power to respond to a question I see. It's ok man, just say I'm a dumbass that can't think of an original thought, so I have to try to attack people

The board understands that you are just an idiot

Absolute irony at it's finest.

It's ok.....go ahead and continue telling this board your opinion on a season you admittedly barely watch. It's just a phenomenal look.

Drew was a good QB before he came here but being in Payton offense let me go out and put up those video game numbers.

You keep posting that one thing and still have not responded to anything else

To clarify I have watched every game this season but when I see Dalton take multiple sacks or kamara fumble I swap to other games for a minute so I see the saints have teams losing that need to lose because if we can ever find the fricking endzone we could possibly be leading the division.

So anything else smartass? I assume no because the only thing you can do is go to one statement which I just disproved

Respond to what? the only question you asked me was "why are you so pissed off?"

You keep accusing me of being pissed off yet you're the one calling me an idiot and smartass.

when I see Dalton take multiple sacks

as stated by me earlier....taking a sack is sometimes the right move. I'd rather have an extra down than him try to force something that could end up in a turnover.

Nick Saban has a philosophy that even a drive ending in a punt is a success.

Once again....I stated this earlier. The fact that you chose to ignore it is a *you* problem....
