I remember many people saying it was probably one of his better coaching jobs that season given what he was working with.

But frick 'em anyway. I agree with Chad.

Many in the media consider Payton a Future HOF. Not sure why that statement is ridiculous.
Won a Super Bowl and had a great 15 year run with what was historically one of the worst franchises in Pro Sports. With many years still in the tank to win more.

The roster sitting at 3 wins right now is pretty much the roster Payton left us with minus Landry and olave.

Where is the heir apparent that he said was in the building? I sure as hell haven't seen him. He left us with a gadget player and Winston.

Payton got Brees on a cheap 1st contract and Brees came in with the attitude to show the chargers they fricked up .
That is why the saints had success. There are what 22 coaches in the hall and only 3 with 1 Superbowl win, one of which is Madden.

When y'all start playing Payton instead of Madden, holler back lol

Symbiotic

Payton got stripped of playcalling duty at NYG and Parcells didn’t give him full control in Dallas (i think he was passing game coordinator and Chris Palmer RGC)

Brees was a guy who could win games in SD but wasn’t wowing anyone physically or stats wise

It’s ridiculous for a clueless moron like you. If Payton never coaches again he’ll have at least an argument for the hall of fame. Having said that, as much as I appreciate the fifteen years Sean gave us (because I sat in the Super Dome year after year watching horrible teams for 30+ years), I still find myself pissed every time I see his fat arse on Fox.

It’s hard to accurately rate a pre-Saints Brees. He spent those years playing Marty Ball and, as LSU fans know, Cam Cameron is not a great OC.

I'm a moron, when people like you are claiming him the greatest ever?

He was a great coach for us but he had Brees from the start. After one year without Brees he wanted to retire and needed time off. The to start then season he is naming teams he would like to coach, chargers, cowboys: teams that already have franchise quarterbacks, not him drafting and developing one?

But I'm the moron. Take a seat dumbass

Care to elaborate on your extensive knowledge?
Who did we start the season at Quarterback with? Jameis Winston, Payton's project
Who is the running back who fumbled the last game away? Kamara, Payton's pick

Who is the 100 million dollar reciever sitting on the bench? Thomas, Payton's boy

Who is the de Payton traded 2 first for that really isn't a game changer? Davenport

Who is the cb that Payton equated to the same draft status as mahommes, and isn't playing? Lattimore

I didn't claim to be a genius but I'm not a dumbass like yourself
