re: I guess now the real question is was it Brees or did Payton make him great

Also if Payton developed Brees then why hasn’t he been able to develop ANY OTHER QB IN SAINTS HISTORY to make them worth a shite?
And again, he went 18-4 with Hill Winston and Teddy. Who do you accredit their successes too? None can win a starting job right now.
He poached Taysom Hill off of GBs practice squad, a QB no one wanted. After three years of playing special teams and gadgetry, he started his first game at age 30 and proceeded to go 7-2.
Jamies Winston played the best ball of his career and was 5-2 before his injury.
Teddy B went 5-0, best QB rating, TD% and INT% of his career.
How do you explain this?
Who else was he supposed to “develop” amidst a successful 15 year run with Brees? They never drafted an heir apparent. That was the egregious mistake, not Payton’s ability to develop. Any QB with an ounce of talent saw success with Payton.

Garrett Grayson was supposed to be the heir apparent according to Payton's stellar drafting status

No he wasn’t
Well he was a 3rd pick, so Payton must have thought highly of him since we drafted colston In the 7th

No one anywhere, including Garrett Grayson ever said this or even thought this. Why do you continue to embarrass yourself with dumb post after dumb post? You’ve admitted you have hardly watched any of the games (which in truth helps explain some of the ignorance), but want to argue with people who have. You don’t even know the teams record for God’s sake. It would be comical if it weren't so sad.

Do you really believe that was an intelligent retort There can be rational discourse but it cannot involve pea brain commentary
You don’t draft “heir apparents” in the 3rd round.
You don’t draft “heir apparents” in the 3rd round.

At least im intelligent enough to respond to the message that I clicked reply too, you replied to a previous message.
But if you don't understand sarcasm, please let me enlighten you. Payton never tried to draft Brees heir, the highest draft picks he spent on a quarterback was Grayson but then after mahommes started lighting up the league he put mahommes as the same draft status as lattimore, who's been Riding the bench the majority of the season,
Are you Payton's agent? Lol cause you're trying to sell his arse

When you think it can’t get any dumber . . . Riding the bench is when you’re not playing because someone has put you on the bench. Lattimore has not been playing because he had broken ribs and a lacerated kidney. For the love of God, quit embarrassing yourself by posting.

First I'm not embarrassing myself.
2nd why did you feel the need to jump into a conversation with someone else? Was it your opportunity to feel smart? Quit embarrassing yourself
3rd lattimore is trying to figure out Thomas playbook of not playing for 3 years and still getting paid 100 million
And 4yj, you picked out that statement to respond to but this conversation was about Payton's abilities and you chose not to respond that Payton rates lattimore and mahommes draft status equal. Would you rather have lattimore or mahommes now?

All i know for certain is i'm rooting for Payton to fail in every way imaginable the rest of his fricking miserable fat career and hope his wife cheats on him with Reggie Bush.
I don't know why. The Saints will never see success like that again. I'm not saying to wish him success in his future coaching but he'll always do better than any coach the Saints hire.

It’s the bitterness of how he’s walking away and the shite show of a roster that he’s leaving behind. The angst wouldn’t be as bad if he were truly retiring, but it was known as soon as he announced it that he just didn’t want to be in NOLA anymore. Causing a lot of the “are we not good enough for you” anger/resentment towards him. Especially when you also consider how much control/say he had in the roster makeup
The entire organization is responsible for the shite show left behind. Not just Payton.
Would you want to live in the shite hole that is New Orleans? I'm sure knowing that he could never win another SB here had a say in the matter. Goodell is never handing NOLA, another trophy. That is clear to see.
Marcus Williams missed that tackle on purpose in that Minnesota game.
The refs fricked us in the Rams game.
This team isn't winning for a long time.

you might actually be the single dumbest poster on this board.
Pro tip...when multiple people are telling you that you're embarrassing yourself....then it's true. You don't have the mental capacity to hold conversations. That isn't me flaming you. I'm just being brutally honest.
