that only mentioned restructuring.

meh, mack still got a huge benefit by a reduced 4 mill of not getting tagged next year.

my point remains too!

I can’t recall the last real cap casualty the Saints had

Well we didn't match or exceed Denvers 8 mil 2 year to the best run stopping DT in Roach. I don't get this one unless he wanted to go somewhere else or we just screwed up.

Underhill said we offered $3mm. Apparently that’s how they operate, give the players what they’re willing to pay and if they take it great and if not, good luck

No wonder why he left. What posters said "cap don't matter, doesn't really exist"?
Its not the first time we draft well, develop a player over the years, they get good and then we don't pay them

He’s a runstuffer, they aren’t expensive and they’re more plentiful than guys like Bresee

Plus we’re paying Saunders and Shepherd

Roach was a bottom of the roster guy. You don't get in bidding wars for a run stuffing DT that offers nothing else. You can get the same guy late in the draft or and an UDFA, which is where we got Roach in the first place.

Clicking around looked like he was due a $1.75M roster bonus if on the team Monday and may have had a playing time bonus for $1.5M. Team must have let him know his options were to play at the reduced rate and no bonuses, or they would be moving on from him.

If be surprised if Hurst is the plan at lt.

They could circle back to peat or another vet.

Just have to play the waiting game since they don't have a lot to spend.

Hurst at 3mil for the season was good work by loomis.

That is probably very similar to what he is actually making in Denver's. Its "up to 8mil"

I was high on roach too, but let's not act like the saints couldn't afford to keep him.

Exactly, he improved a lot this past year. But he’s not a difference maker. DT is really deep this year. Woukd love to pick up a 4th and hope Wingo or McKinley Jackson are there to take his spot.

I would love Wingo in the 4th, that would be incredible value in my opinion. Not saying that with PnG glasses on either, he’s just a legit stud.

He could be there too with him being injured all year. Even with saying that I don’t think injuries are an issue with him, dude played basically every snap his sophomore year and was as dominant as anyone.
