If a player falls the we are in love with. Similar to 2011 draft, gave up a 2012 1st and 2nd round pick 56 to move back into 28 for Ingram.

If you would, what player/players would you want in the mid to late 20's.

Overall, this just seems like a really weak draft. I wouldn't be looking to trade up.

Do not want to trade next year's first. To give up next year's first and this year's 2nd, I'd have to get someone in the Top 10 this year and that own't happen.

What if it's someone everyone says is a top 5 talent. Simmons?

The saints don’t have nearly enough draft capital to trade anywhere close to the first round. The only realistic way to do it would be to trade a player.

Def not for Metcalf.
You really think he is going to be a complete receiver?

I would do it for simmons and maybe a couple other guys and that's it

It’s not impossible. The Saints have a history of aggression in terms of locking in on a guy and making a move.

I would say it’s much more likely they move up in 2nd round once the dust settles after Thursday night. If there is a CB WR OL they fall in love with it could happen.

This year is far from a weak draft. That being said it’s weaker for the things we need. Unless they see a home run type of player we should not trade up.

I wouldn't mind the Saints trading up in the later rounds if they spot the proverbial diamond in the rough - those trades don't cost you so much. While the Saints have been atrocious in trading up in the first two rounds (see, e.g., LAST YEAR!), they have done an incredible job of recognizing talent in the later rounds (see, e.g., Jimmy Graham, Marquis Colston, etc.).

Can we PLEASE stop trading all of our draft choices away every year?

Since we don't have any glaring needs I hope we'll just hold what we've got and add some depth in a couple areas with our few draft picks. Would be nice to have a full draft post Brees .

This is a one of the deepest WR drafts ever. No way they trade up for a WR

Every year I have my opinions on what the Saints should do in the draft. This year is the same and my opinion looks like most of the posts here already. The problem is they never do what I think they should, and it always works out great for them. So I learned a few lessons:

1. Ireland and Co. know more about drafting for the NFL than I do.

2. I should just shut up and watch the draft

Seriously though, I hope they don't trade up unless it's earlier in the second like someone mentioned. We'll see.

idk what you consider weak. But this seems like the deepest defensive draft in years, where some high quality defensive talent can be had deep into the first round.

I disagree. These guys have their fair share of misses. It's ok to critique what they do and express an opinion.

The good thing about getting into the first round is you get an extra year to lock up that player if they turn out to be good. Bad thing is it cost more to trade into those spots.

That being said, we have hit on guys like Thomas and Kamara in later rounds.

If CSP and Ireland have a guy they need, I’m not going to tell them how to spend their draft capital. However, there is typically a guy who falls to the late first or early second where a value is worth it. Maybe a TE?

Most of the Saints big hits in the draft seem to come late.
