How would a potential cancellation of the season affect our roster?

With the way things are looking I think it’s more likely the season gets cancelled than not. Absolutely fricking sucks to say but looking at it realistically, the signs are pointing to that.

If it does, does Drew come back? Will we restructure the contracts of 2 year guys like Emmanuel Sanders, Malcolm Jenkins, etc.

I think this is the strongest our roster has been since 2011, and while I know there are bigger fish to fry than sports right now, it would be an absolute gut punch to not be able to see where this team could go.

Obviously the only answer is cryogenic freezing.

The NFL has a long time to prepare for this. I don't see them cancelling the season.

All NFL team dead money will be forgiven.

The salary cap will get a substantial increase.

The Saints will get zero compensatory picks.

But with global warming, is that really a viable option? Come on, guys, cloning Drew is imperative.

Will the clone be a 22 years of age Drew with his current knowledge of the game kept intact?

I am not going to be robbed of my two favourite footballers yet again - we must have GOAT Tommy Brady versus 11th or 12 greatest Drew Brees

Have fun watching Brady underthrow Evans on a way to a 8-8 season.

Lets be serious here.

Drew's arm ligaments can't handle even a short term cryo stay.
I think a well managed short light speed burst will get him back in only days his time but just in time for the new season.

Problem solved

Pretty sure if the season is canceled then the contracts carry over. Now drew May retire but the 2 year deal that sanders signed for instance would begin in 2021.

If the season isn't played all contracts carry over to the next year as is (like Rawdog said).

It really only affects guys considering retirement or guys who were hurt having longer to get healthy.

So it could mean we don't see Brees again, or we get one less year than we otherwise would have. But contract wise everything will just carry.

Do you really think Goodell is going to cancel the season and miss out on profit? That cheesedick slime ball would have them play if the Black Death hit again if it meant missing out on a penny.

They would play in empty stadiums, it will fine for tv. It will be like watching when we play Atlanta in Atlanta.

• Most of the NFLs money comes from TV.
• Instant testing should be available by then.
• very real chance fans will not attend games.
• 0% chance NFL games are cancelled.

This is what they will try to do. The wild card is whether or not the NFLPA goes along with it. I suspect the players will need the money and will show up, but you never know.
