I'd be ecstatic if they axed Week 1. Think of all the money season ticket holders would save.

But that money would get transferred to playoff tickets.

Week 1 has NOT been cancelled. The HOF game has, though.

I would like to save the money but supposedly owners will change entire demand list if they lose out on preseason money

Every veteran player in the NFL. it's probably just a coincidence that apparnetly an agreement well be reached in time for the 1st paychecks. makes you wonder who stonewalled this all through the summer

Plus I think it greatly benefits the rookies. I can't wait to see Jordan, Ingram, Wilson, Patrick, and Bussey in action. Maybe even the d-lineman but I'm not sure if's ready to play.

Players are going to meet again Monday to discuss deal.

So seeing as HOF game got cancelled on Thursday of this week, it would seem safe to assume that Week 1 preseason would be cancelled by (at the latest) Thursday of NEXT week (July 28th). You might even argue the last day would be July 26th or 27th seeing as multiple games are harder to coordinate and prepare for than one single game in Ohio.

True and that would suck for them, but there are also 70,000 season ticket holders who are tired of paying for that shite.

Also, the businesses and stadium workers were also affected by the Saints/Chargers game in London in 2008 and I don't recall too much stink about that - a regular season game that actually counted and would have had a couple thousand San Diego fans traveling and staying in New Orleans hotels.
