Brees looked magnificent against the Rams in the NFC Championship game in 2018 & in the Wild Card game against the Vikings last year.

How many years have you been calling for Brees now?

See idiots like you take any criticisms or perceived negative breakdowns of Brees as wanting to get rid of him. My making light of his slow, gradual decline in arm strength & mobility was to only say that it was time to begin looking at the draft in terms for his future replacement because the writing was on the wall.

If not for Andy Reid & the Chiefs knowing Payton would have taken Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 draft, they wouldn't have jumped us to get him. There wouldn't be this cloud of gloom about the future & who would be next up.

The worse thing Brees did to this fanbase was to say he could play until he was 45 because too many took that as the gospel. People honestly believed they would get prime Drew Brees until he was 45 when there were small signs that his physical gifts were beginning to erode when he made those statements.

It's looking bad and I'm a pretty big Brees apologist ride him till the wheels fall off. I would also say he didn't accumulate 130yds penalties and he wasn't covering Waller. They claimed this roster was loaded enough to protect him, to give him targets who can make plays and get open, to shut down other offenses and create points on defense and to allow him to be a game manager who doesn't turn the ball over and can win a game or two when he is feeling it. His arm looks very dead to me and even his short range accuracy is failing. The offensive line has been unimpressive, Michael Thomas is hurt, the secondary couldn't cover a TE tonight. We are 1-1 and leading the division. I would say I still see us as the best team in the Division I don't know where we stand after that but we will find out a lot next week against Green Bay.

Have a good night man, despite the back and forth tonight. Each season is a rollercoaster, but I think I’m done with saints talk for this season. Black and gold all the way!

If he ever really stepped into a throw and launching a wobbly 15 harder I would feel a lot worse but right now he’s skittish and the protection hasn’t been great.

We have 2 good WR and he’s out.

The OL isn’t what we thought it would be.

We don’t have weapons on offense.

Last week he launched a 40 yard dime to Cook.

This week he’s throwing off his back foot and getting harassed.

Lol Wilson, Mahomes & Jackson were much better & they didn't limit their staffs with what play calling they could use either. You clowns in denial are hilarious. ?

After his injury:

25 TDs 2 INTs

Didn't throw one after week 12

His ability to evade the rush like he used to is gone & he knows he can't push the ball deep either. It's a confidence thing that all QBs deal with when their skill sets begin to erode especially a QB as sharp mentally as Brees. He knows what it takes to beat certain coverages & when he knows he can't do it physically, it plays with your mind. You become skittish & nervous in the pocket. You make poor decisions & inaccurate throws.

And what was his stat line against the Vikings in a game that mattered the most?

The game plan for any old QB is the same.

Get a ton of pressure on them. Disrupt their lower half and make them throw it all arm.

It’s not a terrible gameplan for any QB really, but when you can’t just sidearm a 30 yard throw it’s especially effective.

True but there were times tonight Payton dialed up plays with downfield throws where there was a clean pocket & Drew failed to pull the trigger on the deep throw. Instead he chose to check it down. That's a sign of a QB who questions his own arm strength & deep ball accuracy.

Fans think that a QB must have a clean pocket to throw from & that is simply a myth. All the good ones & especially Brees in his prime, are masters at being able to manipulate the pocket to buy time to make throws downfield. The key is being able to keep your eyes downfield & make strong, accurate throws on the move. If Brees can't throw downfield off platform then it creates a serious snowball effect for other aspects of the offense.

He’s still super athletic and I’m not sure he didn’t get his arm or shoulder jacked tonight on that hit that they never replayed.

Brees is in Peyton Manning territory only we don't have the defense to carry us. We got shitheads like Malcolm Jenkins instead.
