Seems like this will really hurt those trying to make the squad.

Everything is on the table I imagine. They have to have several plans for rosters, the PS, expanding the PS numbers and the roster, trading, quarantined players etc.
Cause what they are going to need more than anything else is flexibility and available players.
I expect a lot of changes for 2020 lol.

They draw names out of a hat to keep it fair.

Hopefully Brees, Thomas, Kamara, Cam, Lattimore, etc. all make the cut.

I would imagine players will be less likely to claim a sprain, heat exhaustion in order to avoid practice only to show up in preseason games

the players are going to be more heavily scrutinize and get super medical evaluations before a team signs them.

I don't mean x-rays, probably MRI's and other high dollar stuff. To make sure they have a solid 53 man roster

so if you are a bubble player or veteran role player but you have an old injury, teams might be more incline to go with healthy younger players

I wonder if they’ll expand rosters at all to compensate for the fact that teams would have to disqualify any player who tests positive for two games. What if 8 guys all test positive at the same time from just a couple position groups? How do you field a team?

Doubtful. Just two more players is a over million dollars and owners will be cutting corners to save money. The practice squad was going up to 12 from the CBA though and they might add more.

That’s a really good point but we know position players hang out together. What if five offensive lineman all test positive on the same Saturday?

I wouldn’t have asked the question if I didn’t. The better question is why are you posting if you don’t give a shite? Some kind of reverse virtue signal? “Look at me! Look how much I don’t care!!! Give me attention!!!”

My guess is, bad news for undrafted free agents and guys attempting to come back from off years or injuries;

You start with your core group of players from last years team.
I "think" these draftees are better than some backups, therefore I shuffle the drafted players in. I think that free agent pickup is an upgrade at that position, so in he goes too.

That leaves a bunch of guys on the bubble, as always. I think this year, benefit of the doubt goes this way-
if it's a tie in practice, you go with draftee, then experienced player you have seen, then undrafted guy last.
Then you ride this year out and hope things return to normal in 2021.
