It all depends on the QB play. If we can get good QB production coupled with low turnovers then we can compete. We could win the division. My hope is that Jameis sees that he doesn't need to be a world beater. Just make the easy play and don't turn the ball over.

Not very good, honestly. But I’m glad Drew Brees is no longer a Saint.

As long as CSP is our head coach and Dennis Allen is our DC, I feel like we will continue to win the NFC South.

It is rebuild time. You can only go all-in for so many years.

Just my honest opinion ..

I think we'll regress pretty significantly in this upcoming year. I think we have a winning record but barely. I feel like next year's draft we'll be talking about how we can move up from our middle to late teens pick to a top pick to grab our "franchise qb of the future "

I think 10 wins is possible, but it’s hard to see a better defense after losing Hendrickson, rankings, brown, and janoris. That veteran production will need to be replaced in large part by our first 3 draft picks. There is hope that Davenport could dominate, but hard to be optimistic about the defense.

Special teams should be good. And offense I think will be fine but a bit more inconsistent with Winston leading the way.

I’m pretty much between you and poster above jkylejohnson. I’m not mad or anything or even complaining, but I think 10 wins is best case scenario and truly hope I’m proven wrong. It’s definitely not doom and gloom, just realistic. I think we are 2 years away from being SB contenders again unless Winston lights the league up but right now our defense isn’t a SB caliber D anyways. Hell you never know but I just enjoy discussing it. Even if Davenport dominates we are extremely inexperienced at LB outside of Davis, we have experience at CB, but other than Lattimore nobody who is starter or #2 material.

IF Winston plays like an all pro, we could see 10 wins max. If Winston plays like a Buccaneer, The ceiling is going to be about 7 to 8 wins (out of 17 games).

I’m stoked.

I think we end up hitting a couple home runs in this draft.

Saints will be fine. Not saying they’ll be a Super Bowl team, but they won’t stink either.

You may get reamed for the Winston all pro only 10 wins comment but that’s a fair assessment. Our D has holes and that’s understandable due to cap situation, even if our top 3 draft picks this year are good ones, they need 1-3 years to develop

Our QB play last season was way less than all-pro and we won the division, beat the eventual world champions twice.

If Winston is all-pro, meaning he’s the best QB in the conference, the Saints will win the division for a 5th straight year.

I don’t think any of that will happen fwiw.

We don’t have depth on defense, even starters on D like last year

I think as we recover from our current cap situation we’ll have 2 or so years of a little bit of spottiness (8-9 to 10-7 type seasons) and then we’ll be balling

I personally expect Winston to be dominant here, I am probably crazy but I just feel it coming

The team has lost a lot from last year, though.

I think Winston's issues were partially because he was trying to do to much. The year of the ints was also Tampas worst defensive year. He was trying to keep up and win by himself. I'm not saying it was all that, but I think it was a big part.

I’m much more optimistic about Winston than the average Saints fan. I mean, didn’t he throw for 5,000 yards one season? Or maybe I’m remembering wrong and it was 4,000, but still. I know about the interceptions but the talent is there. I think Payton can work fine with him. I just don’t think Saints can afford to bring him back long term if he plays well, but who knows, Loomising

I take that back, if he plays well, Payton and Loomis will make sure to bring him back, might be one hell of a backloaded contract, but it will happen

Whoever is standing behind center(more than likely Winston at least this year) will have to perform above average for us to be competitive and with the quality of receivers in our division i.e. Tampa and Atlanta we better get the corners squared away . Plus losing Malcom Brown and Hendrickson is gonna hurt. It would be ridiculous to even fathom anything beyond next year.
