No, that Pierre Thomas screen game was missed tonight believe me. They tried it once with Ingram and quit immediately.

And if Brees connects on that long pass to Sproles (which he usually does) and doesn't derp out on that second INT, we have our best offensive game on the road all season. PT's injury forced them to change the way the play the game, and it worked well.

The screen play was terrible today because of him being out

So you like shuffling 4 backs in and out?

Seattle D is not the Philly D.

What if I told you that teams ran on Seattle 422 times for 1,626 yards for an average of 3.9 yards per carry?

What if I also told you that teams ran on Philly 443 times for 1,668 yards for an average of 3.8 yards per carry?

STFU. Eagles had the 9th ranked run defense. The Saints oline was the reason for our success.

So let me get this straight. We'd be a better team next week if we don't have Pierre. Maybe we should just sit him.

Exactly. I mean that I'd prefer the two fresher, younger backs play. I'd rather not see him in the game .

I think you're right, Aug. Both those guys ran hard.

I couldn't sit him, bit I can't lie, the offense work smoother without him. Smaller playbook, but fresher legs.

An injured, fatigued Pierre, yes. I love the guy. He's the only player I have a jersey off, but he's been through the ringer. Having two fresh guys in the post-season is huge.

If I had a dollar for every time I've posted that PT is beast...

I don't want him playing less than 100%, but damn, I think a healthy Pierre will be needed if we are gonna' make a serious run.

Since the falcons game

4 carries 0 yards
7 carries 14 yards
8 carries 21 yards
4 carries 8 yards
7 carries 20 yards

Receiving
4 receptions 21 yards
4 receptions 14 yards
7 receptions 62 yards
5 receptions 7 yards
1 reception 3 yards

Fresher legs needed.

Right
Actually, I think it's true. Those screens were getting snuffed out, and Brees was still getting hit on those plays. You come with a determined power running attack, and you get to run play action to Graham and Stills.

Tonight's offensive gameplan, with a decent to good showing by Brees, and we can beat Seattle.

I'm also glad Payton and the offense were focused on that last drive... I thought Philly was gonna lay down and let us score with a minute to go.

I disagree. The Eagles run defense was pretty bad this year. Not the same for Seattle.

It's not about PT so much as it is Payton's playcalling when he has PT. And yes, I think Ingram and Khiry are superior runners, though PT is obviously a better player in the receiving game and great in the open field. Something Ingram did tonight better than anyone has done all season: finding the holes in the trenches. He had SUPERB vision tonight.

ETA: And I remember a play early in the season where Ingram had several poor reads and ran into the back of the middle of the OL instead of making the right cut. He did everything right tonight.

Ingram's been running well the last half of the season.

And Pierre was terrible running against Seattle and everyone else for the past 5 weeks . Part of that being I think he is really worn down, the other SP play calling with him in there.

We also seemed to run especially well out of the I tonight. Wonder if Payton is more likely to run the I formation with Ingram/Khiry than he is PT. I know Jed graded out poorly for this season, but just another guess as to why the run worked so well without PT even though I think PT is a great, under appreciated RB.
