I loved what he did for the Saints, but I would absolutely boo him.

Absolutely.

He quit when things were getting bad and he couldn’t replace # 9

Not yet, but I don't like this business of Loomis discussing compensation with Payton. It should be Loomis and the team.

I can see him backing out a deal Saints make if the other team gives up too much by his standards….
then he can stay retired for the rest of his career

Yeah, he wanted Mahommes but just not bad enough obviously.
Loves to talk about how Mahomes was the greatest QB prospect he's ever seen, yet set on his butt and didn't trade up to get him.

Trades up for Davenport, but not the greatest QB prospect of all time, when Brees was pushing 40.

Andy Reid wasn't as dumb and is going to coast through the next decade because of it.

He shows up wearing another team's colors, you boo him ... same goes for any LSU player playing against the Saints

I mean especially when he left his contract with the team. He was actively looking for another team while still being on staff.

Yes to the original question. And he’ll return every year because he’s going to Carolina.

I think he decided he wanted his job back in New Orleans. That’s why there was this brief groundswell in the media that somehow Payton was gonna come back here. And I think someone with the Saints shot that down.

Now all of a sudden, the Panthers are in the picture. They’ve already interviewed Vic Fangio for DC, and that’s who Payton has mentioned as his preferred DC. They’re also the last interview he’s scheduled. I think Payton wants to go to Carolina and play the Saints twice a year and stick it up their asses for not letting him come back here.

And I say bring it, motherfricker.

They were seemingly insurmountably hard from day one.

Remember Katrina? Games in Baton Rouge? Does San Antonio ring a bell?

Yet he stayed through all of that and built a consistent winner.

Suggesting that he quit “when things got hard” is absurd.

Sean Payton has never coached a game in San Antonio or Tiger Stadium. He didn't "stay through all of that". He was offered a promotion and paid handsomely at the come up from all of that. The organization also rewarded him by looking past his vicodin stealing and cheerleader chasing as well as whatever took place during bountygate. I dont think any coach has ever received more leeway from an organization and he returns the favor by quitting.

Yep. He quit and wanted to quit sooner. Our relationship is done.

No we're trying to make a point in a semi humorous way it seems.
