There are a lot of people that were tired of hearing about it in ATL last night. I got numerous txts and calls.
they showed him on tv and became a hot topic with the similarity of the block... how are they not going to make that a hot talking point? It was a special occasion. Sounds like you guys just picked the wrong franchise to cheer for.

Lets face it, Gleason owns the Falcons...on and off the field.

no - your option is to just disregard it and move on. at the end of the day it has no real bearing on your day to day life, so why let it affect you.
for me its like watchin anything back in the day that had John Madden - I used to loath hearing him talk about stuff - so I just chose to disregard him, and still found enjoyment in the game.
just remember this - when we play in Atlanta, all of this will be brought up there - because the media likes to repeat the Katrina stuff every chance it can get.
and Gleason was a HUGE part of the Saints, not only on the field, but off as well - and the media will use that as well.

Well... Bye Felicia.

It was the 10 year anniversary of us destroying your arse again in the Dome.
Can people please do their own math? It has been just over 9 years since the reopening of the Dome, September 25, 2006. It is the 10 year anniversary of Katrina (when the Saints played their home games in NY, SA & BR).
DD, bear down because you have at least one more year to deal with it, we can all expect that the league will have Atlanta play in the dome Sunday night September 25, 2016.

You bitch a lot. You can say you feel great being 5-1 but we all know that loss last night is eating you up. You wouldn't come to a Saints board and continue to bitch about something so trivial if not. Regardless if his story annoys you, it's complete bullshite that your fans talk shite to Gleason because of his illness.

how about you just put yourself in the shoes of a decent human being and keep the whining about occasionally having to see a man dying in probably the worst way possible inside that head of yours. like Breesus said, I hope you get to keep your petty ignorance of this disease.

DoubleDown,
We broke you. You're on a Saints board complaining about a man with a terminal illness. Enough said.

While I agree it's pathetic to argue with SG, I am 100% sick and tired of the Saints and the media parading him around as the charity case. Hear me out before you get defensive. Last night, throughout the ENTIRE NATIONAL broadcast, all I had to hear about was Katrina and Steve Gleason. While both are sad stories, I'm about sick and tired of having this flaunted in my face as a Falcons fan.
Maybe don't give up a blocked punt in prime time against the same f@cking team with the guy who did it a couple of years earlier in the same stadium sitting in a wheelchair.
Punt the f@cking ball like kids in high school do and you wouldn't hear it as much but you can't, you didn't, yall sucked at punt protection so you get to hear it all over again.

Goodness that's pathetic.
Maybe you guys hate the topics so much because you associate them with getting your arse kicked.

Who gives a shite?
You and them obviously have no compassion.
They show the man as a way to give inspiration to those who are suffering with this or something similar... I'm sure these same people were sick of all the ICE Bucket Challenges for most of last year.. but that attention provided a huge break through.
You can be sick and tired of awareness stories all you want, but there's truly no need to be.
So sorry your buddies are in a position to be so "sick" of hearing about it.. Perhaps they should be thankful they aren't truly "sick"
It's about inspiration man. Recognition and inspiration.. It helps more people than your pathetic friends and fan base.
I never get tired of seeing stories about that paralyzed football player from Rutgers.. Some people just have no compassion or consideration.. that's truly unfortunate.
This is the first time all year they have brought Gleason up on national TV.. and this is also the 10 year anniversary of Katrina fwiw.. It was kind of a big deal.. regardless if it affected your inconsiderate buddies.
Posted on 10/16/15 at 9:12 pm to beauchristopher
Also, I'm not sure they were even planning to make a big deal about Gleason..
They brought him up after the punt block.. which was extremely similar to that moment.. You couldn't help but remember that punt and show the two for comparison.. and it all tied into that moment vs the Falcons.. at the dome.. and like I said.. the 10 year anniversary.. Before that happened, they hadn't shown him or talked about him..
People these days just get sick of anything and everything.. especially if it's a feel good story that gains a ton of recognition.. It's like people are embedded today to just "hate" I can assure you had roles been reversed I would have no issues with it.
