How anyone who watched Chark at LSU could want him anywhere before the 3rd round is just insane to me

Chark is a freak athlete, 6’3 200 pound badass, with deep threat ability and major size.

Marvin Jones clone at worst.

If you think chark wouldnt kill it with the saints then wtf, go watch some football.

Brees would use chark with tedd ginn, and open up the underneath for michael thomas/kamara/ingram.

Btw, 800 plus yards in college definitely means he accomplished on the collegiate level. Especially st LSU. Don’t discredit this man.

I would literally vomit if we went TE in the first and traded up to get an overrated WR. Yeah he ran fast at the combine, but he makes too many body catches and I'm not sure he's proficient at any routes other than fly routes.

6'3 200 pound guy who makes almost no contested plays or plays in traffic. Has no ability to run routes at short and intermediate levels. As slow processing of the game. Struggles to adjust to the deep ball which is his only attribute. Mostly catches with his body. Yea what a beast. He's very good at running in a straight line and jet sweeps I will give him that. If you think a guy like that would do well here with Drew Brees then you're the one who needs to watch some football.

Yea Chark is a one trick pony at this point, though very good at that one thing.

You can’t draft a role player that early. ESP when there are more well rounded WRs & when we don’t hsve a 2nd rd pick

Cool. A "let's draft LSU players with draft picks we don't even have" thread.

That's new.

This would have merit had the Saints not completely overhauled their scouting department a few years back. Things have changed since those early Payton drafts.

Go re-watch Chark's highlights.

They way he was used was almost identical to the way the Saints used Ted Ginn. From the same route tree, to the same motion-option hand-offs, to even punt returns.

While it would be nice to acquire a younger 6-3 version of Ginn for the future, it would be a redundant move for this year.

A true slot threat like DJ Moore or Daesean Hamilton or Anthony Miller would be more helpful to the offensive attack this year.

I think both those guys were drafted with more in mind, esp meachem who they thought could be a no 1. They both just ended up assuming that role but Chark on tape, that’s all he does.

People in here spoke baldly about Odell Beckham to. WE don’t know who will go into the league and becomes a viable player on the field. The kid has drive and had always been an overlooked guy on every level so far. Chark has all the tools to develop into something special. With CURTIS JOHNSON coaching him up at the pro level, id give him more than the benefit a the doubt. If the front office and coaching staff like him enough to draft him. I have no problem with it iuntil he proves them wrong.
