def a good contract. I was worried, with him visiting so many teams, we would be caught in a bidding war of sorts. Glad we paid for what he is. That doesnt happen often.

An average of $3.25m a year. That's really cheap for a veteran player. I have no problem with it.

3.25 only if he hits all his escalators.

Great deal in terms of money and years. Great addition for roster flexibility and shifting players to their natural positions. Nice to have a leader on the D again.

That is a market-correct deal for that guy.

He can do well if he does well.

Get Fairley with similar $$ and I'd be fine.
(maybe not so much signing bonus)

That may have drove the bonus $$ up. I was surprised it was that much, relatively speaking.

What's surprising about a $600k bonus a year? That's nothing compared to a lot of contracts.

I would like that too. However, I would expect a DT may make a little more.
