and I guess you don't often see teams trade their best player to a team in the same conference as them or am I just overthinking it?

I am spending money on OG and LB. I might draft those positions too. Depends how the draft falls. Basically that's it. I am keeping rest of funds to resign some players on roster. I want see Saints head towards a younger team. We don't need a stop gap guy because team doesn't have strong foundation of core players.

I wanted Doubs and Allgeier, thinking Doubs would get in the 12-15 a year range. But so many teams need receivers, looks like he will go for more.

Really not that big a deal to me. Seems like a completely overblown sports trope for anyone outside of maybe an elite qb.

If we are about to resign Olave and draft a WR in the 2nd-3rd it doesn't make sense to spend money at WR. We also traded a 4th, 6th, and 7th for WR's that we plan to use this season.
Get a WR in the draft and secure a TE2 so that we can run 2 TE sets.
Upgrading the OL and giving Shough/ WR's time to make plays is more important than spending another $10-15mil on a WR.
